Lessons Learned from Surah Al-Imran

  1. Awarding respect and humiliation is only in the control of Allah's. Without His Will, neither will happen.
  2. There is nothing beyond the Power of Allah's, as is evident from the incident of Zakariyya when he was blessed with a son in old age.
  3. Never try plotting against Allah's.
  4. Don’t say anything ambiguously intending to deceive the listener; especially when it’s the Word of Allah's .
  5. Whoever holds fast to Allah's (by totally relying on Him) will be guided on the right path.
  6. Don’t forget the bounties of Allah's and your humble beginnings.
  7. Be wary of who you befriend.
  8. Mashwarah (seeking counsel) is important. Once mashwarah is done, rely on Allah's. Death is inevitable; everyone shall have to taste death.
  9. Imagine how the Ṣaḥ'bah رضي الله عنهم must have felt when they heard this 'yah from the tongue of the Messenger ﷺ:

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَيُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُ

Allaahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal Haiyul Qaiyoom
2. Allah ! point d’autre divinité que Lui, le Vivant, l’Éternel Veilleur sur Toute chose (Al-Qayyûm).

Verset 3 sur 10

نَزَّلَ عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ مُصَدِّقٗا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ

Nazzala 'alaikal Kitaaba bilhaqqi musaddiqal limaa baina yadaihi wa anzalat Tawraata wal Injeel
3. Il a fait descendre sur toi (en révélation) le Livre de la Vérité pour confirmer les précédents (Livres). Et Il a fait descendre la Torah et l’Évangile,

Verset 4 sur 10

مِن قَبۡلُ هُدٗى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَۗ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٞۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٞ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ

Min qablu hudal linnaasi wa anzalal Furqaan; innallazeena kafaroo bi Aayaatil laahi lahum 'azaabun shadeed; wallaahu 'azeezun zun tiqaam
4. dès avant, pour guider (hudâ) les hommes ; et Il a fait descendre (en révélation) le Discernement (Al-Furqân). Ceux qui n’ont pas cru aux Signes d’Allah seront soumis à un terrible supplice. Car Allah est Tout-Puissant et Il a fait Sienne la Vengeance.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخۡفَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ شَيۡءٞ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ

Innal laaha laa yakhfaa 'alaihi shai'un fil ardi wa laa fis samaaa'
5. Rien n’échappe à l’attention d’Allah sur terre et dans les cieux.

Verset 6 sur 10

هُوَ ٱلَّذِي يُصَوِّرُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ كَيۡفَ يَشَآءُۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

Huwal lazee yusawwirukum fil arhaami kaifa yashaaa'; laa ilaaha illaa Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem
6. C’est Lui Qui, comme Il veut, vous façonne dans les matrices. Point d’autre divinité que Lui, le Tout- Puissant, le Sage.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِنۡهُ ءَايَٰتٞ مُّحۡكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٞۖ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمۡ زَيۡغٞ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنۡهُ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ ٱلۡفِتۡنَةِ وَٱبۡتِغَآءَ تَأۡوِيلِهِۦۖ وَمَا يَعۡلَمُ تَأۡوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُۗ وَٱلرَّـٰسِخُونَ فِي ٱلۡعِلۡمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلّٞ مِّنۡ عِندِ رَبِّنَاۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ

Huwal lazeee anzala 'alaikal Kitaaba minhu Aayaatum Muh kamaatun hunna Ummul Kitaabi wa ukharu Mutashaabihaatun fa'ammal lazeena fee quloobihim zaiyghun fa yattabi'oona ma tashaabaha minhubtighaaa 'alfitnati wabtighaaa'a taaweelih; wa maa ya'lamu taaweelahooo illal laah; warraasikhoona fil 'ilmi yaqooloona aamannaa bihee kullum min 'indi Rabbinaa; wa maa yazzakkaru illaaa ulul albaab
7. C’est Lui Qui, sur toi, a fait descendre (en révélation) le Livre dont certains versets, clairs et ne prêtant à aucune confusion, sont le fondement de l’Écriture ; d’autres, cependant, ont de multiples sens. Les gens dont les cœurs ont dévié suivent les versets ambigus pour semer la discorde en leur donnant les interprétations (qu’ils veulent) ; or Allah Seul en connaît l’interprétation ; les gens au savoir bien ancré, quant à eux, disent : « Nous y avons cru car Tout vient de notre Seigneur ! » Seuls s’en souviennent, cependant, les esprits sagaces.

Verset 8 sur 10

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَيۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةًۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ

Rabbanaa laa tuzigh quloobanaa ba'da iz hadaitanaa wa hab lanaa mil ladunka rahmah; innaka antal Wahhaab
8. Seigneur ! Ne fais pas dévier nos cœurs après nous avoir guidés ; donne- nous Ta grâce, car c’est Toi le Suprême Donateur !

Verset 9 sur 10

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوۡمٖ لَّا رَيۡبَ فِيهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخۡلِفُ ٱلۡمِيعَادَ

Rabbanaaa innaka jaami 'un-naasi li Yawmin laa raiba feeh; innal laaha laa yukhliful mee'aad
9. Seigneur ! Tu es Celui Qui va rassembler les hommes pour un jour à propos duquel il n’y a point de doute. Allah ne manque jamais à Sa promesse.

Verset 10 sur 10

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَن تُغۡنِيَ عَنۡهُمۡ أَمۡوَٰلُهُمۡ وَلَآ أَوۡلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمۡ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ

Innal lazeena kafaroo lan tughniya 'anhum amwaaluhum wa laaa awlaaduhum minal laahi shai'anw wa ulaaa'ika hum waqoodun Naar
10. Ceux qui ont mécru, ni leurs biens ni leur progéniture ne les préserveront (de la colère) d’Allah. Et ce sont eux qui alimenteront le Feu.
