Lessons Learned from Surah Al-Imran

  1. Awarding respect and humiliation is only in the control of Allah's. Without His Will, neither will happen.
  2. There is nothing beyond the Power of Allah's, as is evident from the incident of Zakariyya when he was blessed with a son in old age.
  3. Never try plotting against Allah's.
  4. Don’t say anything ambiguously intending to deceive the listener; especially when it’s the Word of Allah's .
  5. Whoever holds fast to Allah's (by totally relying on Him) will be guided on the right path.
  6. Don’t forget the bounties of Allah's and your humble beginnings.
  7. Be wary of who you befriend.
  8. Mashwarah (seeking counsel) is important. Once mashwarah is done, rely on Allah's. Death is inevitable; everyone shall have to taste death.
  9. Imagine how the Ṣaḥ'bah رضي الله عنهم must have felt when they heard this 'yah from the tongue of the Messenger ﷺ:

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

الٓمٓ

Alif-Laam-Meeem
1.Alif, Lam, Mim.
Ayah 2 of 10

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَيُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُ

Allaahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal Haiyul Qaiyoom
2. Allah – there is no God except Him. He is the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all [2].

نَزَّلَ عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ مُصَدِّقٗا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ

Nazzala 'alaikal Kitaaba bilhaqqi musaddiqal limaa baina yadaihi wa anzalat Tawraata wal Injeel
3. He sent down to you the Book with the truth, confirming what was before it, and He revealed the Taurat and the Injeel.

مِن قَبۡلُ هُدٗى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَۗ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٞۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٞ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ

Min qablu hudal linnaasi wa anzalal Furqaan; innallazeena kafaroo bi Aayaatil laahi lahum 'azaabun shadeed; wallaahu 'azeezun zun tiqaam
4. Before this[3], as guidance for mankind, and He bestowed the Criterion [4]. Surely, those who deny the revelations of Allah [5], they will have a severe punishment. Allah is the Almighty, Lord of retribution.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخۡفَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ شَيۡءٞ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ

Innal laaha laa yakhfaa 'alaihi shai'un fil ardi wa laa fis samaaa'
5. Surely, nothing is hidden from Allah in the earth and the heavens [6].

هُوَ ٱلَّذِي يُصَوِّرُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ كَيۡفَ يَشَآءُۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

Huwal lazee yusawwirukum fil arhaami kaifa yashaaa'; laa ilaaha illaa Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem
6. It is He Who shapes you in the wombs of your mothers as He pleases. Besides Him, none is worthy of worship; He is the Exalted, the Wise [7].

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِنۡهُ ءَايَٰتٞ مُّحۡكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٞۖ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمۡ زَيۡغٞ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنۡهُ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ ٱلۡفِتۡنَةِ وَٱبۡتِغَآءَ تَأۡوِيلِهِۦۖ وَمَا يَعۡلَمُ تَأۡوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُۗ وَٱلرَّـٰسِخُونَ فِي ٱلۡعِلۡمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلّٞ مِّنۡ عِندِ رَبِّنَاۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ

Huwal lazeee anzala 'alaikal Kitaaba minhu Aayaatum Muh kamaatun hunna Ummul Kitaabi wa ukharu Mutashaabihaatun fa'ammal lazeena fee quloobihim zaiyghun fa yattabi'oona ma tashaabaha minhubtighaaa 'alfitnati wabtighaaa'a taaweelih; wa maa ya'lamu taaweelahooo illal laah; warraasikhoona fil 'ilmi yaqooloona aamannaa bihee kullum min 'indi Rabbinaa; wa maa yazzakkaru illaaa ulul albaab
7. It is He Who revealed to you this Scripture. In it are verses, which are clear. They are the substance of the Book [8], and others are those in the meaning of which there is doubt [9]. As for those whose hearts are perverted, they will follow that which is doubtful. They are those who seek to mislead, maintaining their own viewpoint of it, and its right interpretation [10] is known to Allah alone [11]. And those who are firm in knowledge say: "We believe in it. All (of it) is from our Lord" [12]. And none has the grasp of the same, to the best, except those who perfectly understand [13].
Ayah 8 of 10

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَيۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةًۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ

Rabbanaa laa tuzigh quloobanaa ba'da iz hadaitanaa wa hab lanaa mil ladunka rahmah; innaka antal Wahhaab
8. O our Lord! Let not our hearts become perverse [14] after You have guided us. And bestow on us Your Mercy. Surely, only You are the Bestower [15].
Ayah 9 of 10

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوۡمٖ لَّا رَيۡبَ فِيهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخۡلِفُ ٱلۡمِيعَادَ

Rabbanaaa innaka jaami 'un-naasi li Yawmin laa raiba feeh; innal laaha laa yukhliful mee'aad
9. O our Lord! Surely, You are the assembler of all [16] people on the Day in which there is no doubt. Surely, Allah does not break [17] His promise.
Ayah 10 of 10

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَن تُغۡنِيَ عَنۡهُمۡ أَمۡوَٰلُهُمۡ وَلَآ أَوۡلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمۡ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ

Innal lazeena kafaroo lan tughniya 'anhum amwaaluhum wa laaa awlaaduhum minal laahi shai'anw wa ulaaa'ika hum waqoodun Naar
10. Surely, those who disbelieve, never will their wealth nor their children avail them against Allah [18], and they shall be the fuel for the Fire.
