The summary/theme of the Surah Al-Kahf 

In this Surah, there are one hundred and ten verses, all of which were revealed in Mecca. The story of the Companions of the Cave (Kahf), Moses and Khidr (a.s.), Zulqarnayn, and some awakening materials about Origin and End are discussed in this holy Surah.

Lesson learned from Surah Al-Kahf 

  1. There are no discrepancies in the Quran.  
  2. Make a point of saying In-sh'’Allah's when speaking of doing something in the future.  
  3. Don’t let the wealth and blessings given to you by Allah's lead you to neglecting Him.  
  4. Allah's is oft forgiving and the possessor of mercy.  
  5. When planning on travelling with people, let them know of the nature of the journey so they can be well prepared.  
  6. If you realise you will not get on with a person due to differences in personality/nature, it is best to keep your distance.  
  7. If you have to do something in the presence of others who may not understand your actions, explain your reasons to them.  
  8. The worst losers are those who think they are doing good in the world, whereas in reality they aren’t.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَلَمۡ يَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ عِوَجَاۜ

Alhamdu lillaahil lazeee anzala 'alaa 'abdihil kitaaba wa lam yaj'al lahoo 'iwajaa
1. Louange à Allah Qui a fait descendre (en révélation) le Livre sur Son serviteur et n’y a mis aucun (propos) sinueux.

Verset 2 sur 10

قَيِّمٗا لِّيُنذِرَ بَأۡسٗا شَدِيدٗا مِّن لَّدُنۡهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرًا حَسَنٗا

Qaiyimal liyunzira ba'asan shadeedam mil ladunhu wa yubashshiral mu'mineenal lazeena ya'maloonas saalihaati anna lahum ajran hasanaa
2. Un livre parfaitement droit pour prévenir d’un terrible châtiment de Sa part, et pour annoncer aux croyants qui accomplissent les bonnes œuvres qu’ils auront une belle récompense,

Verset 4 sur 10

وَيُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدٗا

Wa yunziral lazeena qaalut takhazal laahu waladaa
4. et pour avertir ceux qui ont dit : « Allah S’est attribué un enfant. »

Verset 5 sur 10

مَّا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٖ وَلَا لِأٓبَآئِهِمۡۚ كَبُرَتۡ كَلِمَةٗ تَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡۚ إِن يَقُولُونَ إِلَّا كَذِبٗا

Maa lahum bihee min 'ilminw wa laa li aabaaa'ihim; kaburat kalimatan takhruju min afwaahihim; iny yaqooloona illaa kazibaa
5. Or ils n’en savent rien, pas plus que leurs pères. Quelle abominable parole sort de leurs bouches ! Ils ne disent là que des mensonges.

Verset 6 sur 10

فَلَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفۡسَكَ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمۡ إِن لَّمۡ يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَسَفًا

Fala'allaka baakhi'un nafsaka 'alaaa aasaarihim illam yu'minoo bihaazal hadeesi asafaa
6. Peut-être vas-tu te tourmenter pour eux (à en mourir) parce qu’ils ne croient pas en ce discours (le Coran).

Verset 7 sur 10

إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا مَا عَلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ زِينَةٗ لَّهَا لِنَبۡلُوَهُمۡ أَيُّهُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗا

Innaa ja'alnaa ma 'alal ardi zeenatal lahaa linabluwahum ayyuhum ahsanu 'amalaa
7. Nous avons fait de tout ce que porte la terre une parure pour les éprouver et savoir qui d’entre eux aura accompli les meilleures œuvres.

Verset 8 sur 10

وَإِنَّا لَجَٰعِلُونَ مَا عَلَيۡهَا صَعِيدٗا جُرُزًا

Wa innaa la jaa'iloona maa 'alaihaa sa'eedan juruzaa
8. Mais Nous réduirons certainement tout ce qu’elle porte en un sol aride.

أَمۡ حَسِبۡتَ أَنَّ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡكَهۡفِ وَٱلرَّقِيمِ كَانُواْ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا عَجَبًا

Am hasibta anna Ashaabal Kahfi war Raqeemi kaanoo min Aayaatinaa 'ajabaa
9. Penserais-tu que les gens de la Caverne et de Ar-Raqîm[297] soient les plus étonnants de Nos miracles ?

Verset 10 sur 10

إِذۡ أَوَى ٱلۡفِتۡيَةُ إِلَى ٱلۡكَهۡفِ فَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةٗ وَهَيِّئۡ لَنَا مِنۡ أَمۡرِنَا رَشَدٗا

Iz awal fityatu ilal Kahfi faqaaloo Rabbanaaa aatinaa mil ladunka rahmatanw wa haiyi' lanaa min amrinaa rashadaa
10. Quand ces jeunes gens se réfugièrent dans la caverne ils dirent : « Seigneur ! Donne-nous de Ta part une miséricorde et assure pour nous la voie de la droiture. »
