Ar-Ra'd, (Arabic: الرعد ar-ra'd), or the Thunder, is the 13th chapter (Surah) of the Qur'an, composed of 43 verses (Ayat).

The summary/theme of the Surah Ar-Ra'd,: 

The main theme of this Surah is that the Message of Allah is the Truth. People should not reject it. The arguments in the whole Surah revolve around this theme, and the Message's three core components, Tawhid (God is One), Risalat (Prophethood), and Resurrection, are repeated over and over.

Lesson learned from Surah Ar-Ra'd,: 

  1. Allah's knows the unseen and the seen.  
  2. Allah's does not change the state of a people unless they change what is within them.  
  3. Only through the remembrance of Allah's do hearts find contentment.  
  4. Despite presenting numerous irrefutable proofs of prophethood, ultimately the Prophet ﷺ was told to say, if you do not believe, Allah's is enough as witness between me and you. There comes a time when presenting proofs and evidences have no effect. At that point, one’s faith should be resorted to.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verset 1 sur 10

الٓمٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِۗ وَٱلَّذِيٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ

Alif-Laaam-Meeem-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaab; wallazee unzila ilaika mir Rabbikal haqqu wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yu'minoon
1. Alif, Lâm, Mîm, Rā. Voici les versets du Livre. Ce qui t’est révélé de ton Seigneur est la vérité. Mais la plupart des hommes ne croient pas.

Verset 2 sur 10

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيۡرِ عَمَدٖ تَرَوۡنَهَاۖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ يُدَبِّرُ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمۡ تُوقِنُونَ

Allaahul lazee raf'as samaawaati bighairi 'amadin tarawnahaa summas tawaa 'alal 'Arshi wa sakhkharash shamsa walqamara kulluny yajree li ajalim musammaa; yudabbirul amra yufassilil Aayaati la'allakum biliqaaa'i Rabbikum tooqinoon
2. Allah, c’est Lui Qui a élevé les cieux sans aucune colonne que vous puissiez voir, puis S’est établi avec une infinie Majesté (istawa) sur le Trône ; Il a mis le soleil et la lune au service de Ses créatures, chacun d’eux poursuivant sa course pour un terme déjà nommé. Il gère l’ordre de toute chose et détaille les Signes, peut-être serez-vous assurés que la rencontre avec votre Seigneur (aura lieu).

Verset 3 sur 10

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي مَدَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۡهَٰرٗاۖ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ يُغۡشِي ٱلَّيۡلَ ٱلنَّهَارَۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Wa Huwal lazee maddal arda wa ja'ala feehaa rawaasiya wa anhaaraa; wa min kullis samaraati ja'ala feehaa zawjain ithnayn; Yughshil lailan nahaar; inna fee zaalika la aayaatil liqawminy yatafakkaroon
3. C’est Lui aussi Qui a déployé la terre, y a planté des montagnes, (a fait courir) des fleuves, a réparti tous les fruits en couples et a fait que la nuit voile le jour : il y a bien là des Signes pour des gens qui savent méditer.

Verset 4 sur 10

وَفِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ قِطَعٞ مُّتَجَٰوِرَٰتٞ وَجَنَّـٰتٞ مِّنۡ أَعۡنَٰبٖ وَزَرۡعٞ وَنَخِيلٞ صِنۡوَانٞ وَغَيۡرُ صِنۡوَانٖ يُسۡقَىٰ بِمَآءٖ وَٰحِدٖ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعۡضَهَا عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ فِي ٱلۡأُكُلِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ

Wa fil ardi qita'um muta jaawiraatunw wa jannaatum min a'naabinw wa zar'unw wa nakheelun sinwaanunw wa ghairu sinwaaniny yusqaa bimaaa'inw waahid; wa nufaddilu ba'dahaa 'alaa ba'din fil-ukul; inna fee zaalika la aayaatil liqawminy ya'qiloon
4. Sur terre, il y a des lots de terrain contigus, des jardins de vigne, des champs de céréales et des palmiers poussant de troncs communs ou séparés. Ils sont arrosés de la même eau mais Nous faisons que certains aient meilleur goût que d’autres : il y a bien là des Signes pour des gens qui savent raisonner.

Verset 5 sur 10

۞وَإِن تَعۡجَبۡ فَعَجَبٞ قَوۡلُهُمۡ أَءِذَا كُنَّا تُرَٰبًا أَءِنَّا لَفِي خَلۡقٖ جَدِيدٍۗ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلُ فِيٓ أَعۡنَاقِهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

Wa in ta'jab fa'ajabun qawluhum 'a-izaa kunna turaaban 'a-inna lafee khalqin jadeed; ulaaa 'ikal lazeena kafaroo bi Rabbihim wa ulaaa'ikal aghlaalu feee a'naaqihim wa ulaaa'ika Ashaabun Naari hum feehaa khaalidoon
5. Si tu t’étonnes (de leur mécréance), plus étonnantes encore sont leurs paroles : « Renaîtrons-nous vraiment à une nouvelle création après que nous serons réduits en poussière ? » Ce sont ceux-là qui ont mécru en Leur Seigneur, et ce sont ceux-là qui auront le carcan autour du cou, et ce sont ceux-là les hôtes du Feu, où ils séjourneront pour l’éternité.

Verset 6 sur 10

وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبۡلَ ٱلۡحَسَنَةِ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِمُ ٱلۡمَثُلَٰتُۗ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغۡفِرَةٖ لِّلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ ظُلۡمِهِمۡۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَشَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ

Wa yasta'jiloonaka bis saiyi'ati qablal hasanati wa qad khalat min qablihimul masulaat; wa inna Rabbaka lazoo maghfiratil linnaasi 'alaa zulmihim wa inna Rabbaka lashadeedul 'iqaab
6. Et (par défi), ils te réclament de hâter l’arrivée du malheur avant celle du bonheur, bien que beaucoup d’exemples soient passés avant eux, (qui confirmaient la réalisation de Nos menaces). Certes, ton Seigneur a fait Sien le Pardon pour les hommes, malgré leur injustice, mais Allah a aussi la punition très dure.

Verset 7 sur 10

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦٓۗ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرٞۖ وَلِكُلِّ قَوۡمٍ هَادٍ

Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo law laaa unzila 'alaihi Aayatum mir Rabbih; innamaaa anta munzirunw wa likulli qawmin haad
7. Ceux qui ont mécru disent : « Si seulement il descendait sur lui un Signe (prodigieux) de son Seigneur ! » Mais tu n’es là que pour avertir, et pour chaque peuple il y a un guide.

Verset 8 sur 10

ٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَحۡمِلُ كُلُّ أُنثَىٰ وَمَا تَغِيضُ ٱلۡأَرۡحَامُ وَمَا تَزۡدَادُۚ وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٍ عِندَهُۥ بِمِقۡدَارٍ

Allaahu ya'lamu maa tahmilu kullu unsaa wa maa tagheedul arhaamu wa maa tazdaad, wa kullu shai'in 'indahoo bimiqdaar
8. Allah Sait ce que porte toute femelle, et (Il Sait) ce que les matrices expulsent (avant terme) et ce qu’elles retiennent (plus longtemps). Toute chose, auprès de Lui, a sa juste mesure.

Verset 9 sur 10

عَٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ ٱلۡمُتَعَالِ

'Aalimul Ghaibi wash shahaadatil Kaabeerul Muta'aal
9. Il Connaît aussi bien les choses insondables que les choses observables, Lui le Grand, l’Altissime.

Verset 10 sur 10

سَوَآءٞ مِّنكُم مَّنۡ أَسَرَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِۦ وَمَنۡ هُوَ مُسۡتَخۡفِۭ بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَسَارِبُۢ بِٱلنَّهَارِ

Sawaaa'um minkum man asarral qawla wa man jahara bihee wa man huwa mustakhfim billaili wa saaribum binnahaar
10. Pareils pour Lui sont celui qui d’entre vous tait sa pensée et celui qui l’exprime ouvertement, celui qui recourt à la nuit pour se cacher et celui qui s’exhibe en plein jour.
