The summary/theme of the surah ash-shams

The surah begins with solemn oaths sworn on various astronomical phenomena, the first of which, "by the sun", gives the surah its name, then on the human soul itself.

Lessons learned from this surah ash-shams

1. The one who has purified his/her soul has succeeded.  

2. The one who has polluted his/her soul is truly a loser.  

3. The people of Thamūd defied the command of the Prophet openly, and were punished severely.  

4. Allah's does not fear the consequence of His actions, because He has no need to.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 
Verset 1 sur 10

وَٱلشَّمۡسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا

Wash shamsi wa duhaa haa
1. Par le soleil et sa clarté !
Verset 2 sur 10

وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا

Wal qamari izaa talaa haa
2. Par la lune quand elle le suit !

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

Qad aflaha man zakkaahaa
9. Heureux sera, assurément, celui qui la purifie,
