Ar-Ra'd, (Arabic: الرعد ar-ra'd), or the Thunder, is the 13th chapter (Surah) of the Qur'an, composed of 43 verses (Ayat).

The summary/theme of the Surah Ar-Ra'd,: 

The main theme of this Surah is that the Message of Allah is the Truth. People should not reject it. The arguments in the whole Surah revolve around this theme, and the Message's three core components, Tawhid (God is One), Risalat (Prophethood), and Resurrection, are repeated over and over.

Lesson learned from Surah Ar-Ra'd,: 

  1. Allah's knows the unseen and the seen.  
  2. Allah's does not change the state of a people unless they change what is within them.  
  3. Only through the remembrance of Allah's do hearts find contentment.  
  4. Despite presenting numerous irrefutable proofs of prophethood, ultimately the Prophet ﷺ was told to say, if you do not believe, Allah's is enough as witness between me and you. There comes a time when presenting proofs and evidences have no effect. At that point, one’s faith should be resorted to.

ਆਇਤ 1 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

الٓمٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِۗ وَٱلَّذِيٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ

Alif-Laaam-Meeem-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaab; wallazee unzila ilaika mir Rabbikal haqqu wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yu'minoon
1਼ ਅਲਿਫ਼, ਲਾਮ, ਰਾ। (ਹੇ ਨਬੀ!) ਇਹ (ਰੱਬੀ) ਕਿਤਾਬ (.ਕੁਰਆਨ) ਦੀਆਂ ਆਇਤਾਂ (ਆਦੇਸ਼) ਹਨ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ’ਤੇ ਉਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਹੱਕ ਸੱਚ (’ਤੇ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ) ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਲੋਕੀ ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਈਮਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ।

ਆਇਤ 2 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيۡرِ عَمَدٖ تَرَوۡنَهَاۖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ يُدَبِّرُ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمۡ تُوقِنُونَ

Allaahul lazee raf'as samaawaati bighairi 'amadin tarawnahaa summas tawaa 'alal 'Arshi wa sakhkharash shamsa walqamara kulluny yajree li ajalim musammaa; yudabbirul amra yufassilil Aayaati la'allakum biliqaaa'i Rabbikum tooqinoon
2਼ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਾਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਹੜੇ (ਅਕਾਸ਼) ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ’ਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਮ ’ਤੇ ਲਾਇਆ। ਹਰੇਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਯਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੀਕ ਲਈ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਹਰ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਮਿਲਣੀ ’ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ।

ਆਇਤ 3 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي مَدَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۡهَٰرٗاۖ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ يُغۡشِي ٱلَّيۡلَ ٱلنَّهَارَۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Wa Huwal lazee maddal arda wa ja'ala feehaa rawaasiya wa anhaaraa; wa min kullis samaraati ja'ala feehaa zawjain ithnayn; Yughshil lailan nahaar; inna fee zaalika la aayaatil liqawminy yatafakkaroon
3਼ ਉਹੀ (ਅੱਲਾਹ) ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ (ਫਰਸ਼ ਵਾਂਗ) ਵਿਛਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਾੜ ਤੇ ਨਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਂਤ-ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ-ਦੋ ਜੋੜੇ ਬਣਾਏ। ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਥੇਰੀਆਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਆਇਤ 4 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

وَفِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ قِطَعٞ مُّتَجَٰوِرَٰتٞ وَجَنَّـٰتٞ مِّنۡ أَعۡنَٰبٖ وَزَرۡعٞ وَنَخِيلٞ صِنۡوَانٞ وَغَيۡرُ صِنۡوَانٖ يُسۡقَىٰ بِمَآءٖ وَٰحِدٖ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعۡضَهَا عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ فِي ٱلۡأُكُلِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ

Wa fil ardi qita'um muta jaawiraatunw wa jannaatum min a'naabinw wa zar'unw wa nakheelun sinwaanunw wa ghairu sinwaaniny yusqaa bimaaa'inw waahid; wa nufaddilu ba'dahaa 'alaa ba'din fil-ukul; inna fee zaalika la aayaatil liqawminy ya'qiloon
4਼ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਖੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼, ਖੇਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਖਜੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਹਨ, ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਡੋ-ਅੱਡ ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਸਿੰਜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਫਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਜੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚੰਗੇਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਕਲ-ਸਮਝ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਆਇਤ 5 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

۞وَإِن تَعۡجَبۡ فَعَجَبٞ قَوۡلُهُمۡ أَءِذَا كُنَّا تُرَٰبًا أَءِنَّا لَفِي خَلۡقٖ جَدِيدٍۗ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلُ فِيٓ أَعۡنَاقِهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

Wa in ta'jab fa'ajabun qawluhum 'a-izaa kunna turaaban 'a-inna lafee khalqin jadeed; ulaaa 'ikal lazeena kafaroo bi Rabbihim wa ulaaa'ikal aghlaalu feee a'naaqihim wa ulaaa'ika Ashaabun Naari hum feehaa khaalidoon
5਼ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਚਰਜ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਅਚਰਜਯੋਗ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਕਾਫ਼ਿਰਾਂ) ਦਾ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ (ਮਰ ਕੇ) ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿਿਰਓਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ? ਇਹੋ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਇਨਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਰਦਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਆਮਤ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ) ਪਟੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ।

ਆਇਤ 6 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبۡلَ ٱلۡحَسَنَةِ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِمُ ٱلۡمَثُلَٰتُۗ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغۡفِرَةٖ لِّلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ ظُلۡمِهِمۡۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَشَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ

Wa yasta'jiloonaka bis saiyi'ati qablal hasanati wa qad khalat min qablihimul masulaat; wa inna Rabbaka lazoo maghfiratil linnaasi 'alaa zulmihim wa inna Rabbaka lashadeedul 'iqaab
6਼ (ਹੇ ਨਬੀ!) ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਥੋਂ ਭਲਾਈ (ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ) ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬੁਰਾਈ (ਰੱਬੀ ਅਜ਼ਾਬ) ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਾਲਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ (ਅਜ਼ਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਦਾਇਕ) ਮਿਸਾਲਾਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਰੱਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਧੀਕੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। (ਹਕੀਕਤ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਰੱਬ ਕਰੜੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

ਆਇਤ 7 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦٓۗ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرٞۖ وَلِكُلِّ قَوۡمٍ هَادٍ

Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo law laaa unzila 'alaihi Aayatum mir Rabbih; innamaaa anta munzirunw wa likulli qawmin haad
7਼ ਕਾਫ਼ਿਰ ਲੋਕ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਸ (ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ:) ’ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਰੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ (ਨਬੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ) ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਤਾਰੀ ਗਈ ? (ਹੇ ਨਬੀ!) ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ (ਰੱਬੀ ਅਜ਼ਾਬ ਤੋਂ) ਡਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ। (ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ) ਹਰੇਕ ਕੌਮ ਲਈ (ਰੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ) ਇਕ ਮਾਰਗ ਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਆਇਤ 8 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

ٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَحۡمِلُ كُلُّ أُنثَىٰ وَمَا تَغِيضُ ٱلۡأَرۡحَامُ وَمَا تَزۡدَادُۚ وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٍ عِندَهُۥ بِمِقۡدَارٍ

Allaahu ya'lamu maa tahmilu kullu unsaa wa maa tagheedul arhaamu wa maa tazdaad, wa kullu shai'in 'indahoo bimiqdaar
8਼ ਹਰ ਮਦੀਨ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਰਭ ਵਿਚ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅੱਲਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਭਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਟਣਾ-ਵਧਣਾ ਵੀ (ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ)। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਪਰਿਮਾਣ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੈ।

'Aalimul Ghaibi wash shahaadatil Kaabeerul Muta'aal
9਼ ਉਹ ਗ਼ੈਬ (ਪਰੋਖ) ਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ (ਪਰਤੱਖ) ਦਾ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਤੇ ਸਰਵਉੱਚ ਹੈ।

ਆਇਤ 10 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 43

سَوَآءٞ مِّنكُم مَّنۡ أَسَرَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِۦ وَمَنۡ هُوَ مُسۡتَخۡفِۭ بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَسَارِبُۢ بِٱلنَّهَارِ

Sawaaa'um minkum man asarral qawla wa man jahara bihee wa man huwa mustakhfim billaili wa saaribum binnahaar
10਼ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੇ ਜਾਂ ਉੱਚੀ-ਉੱਚੀ, ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅੱਲਾਹ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਇਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਹੈ।
