Commentary of Verse 47 (Surah Al-Muddaththir)
“Till death overtook us.”

The Importance of Dying in Faith[42]
This verse emphasizes the significance of dying with faith. It tells us that if a person lives a life of disbelief but dies as a believer, they will be regarded as a believer. The state of death is what matters in the sight of Allah (اللَّهُ )—how one passes away defines their eternal fate.

Thus, it highlights the importance of maintaining faith until the end of one's life, as that final moment holds great significance in the Hereafter.

Ibn-Kathir
