Transliteration:( Maa lakum kaifa tahkumoon )
"What is the matter with you? How do you judge [156]?"
This verse addresses the folly of those who judge wrongly, saying:
"Oh you foolish people! How stupid you are!"
They favored sons over daughters, believing sons would perpetuate their lineage and provide support in old age, while daughters were undervalued.
Allah challenges this faulty reasoning: if He needed offspring, why would He choose daughters instead of sons—who, according to their beliefs, are better for lineage and support?
It is important to clarify that this verse does not imply that boys are inherently better and girls worse, as the Arabian polytheists claimed, but rather it criticizes their ignorant judgment and false assumptions about Allah’s nature.
