Surah Al-Maidah

English Translation, Transliteration, Tafsir - Ayat [51-60]

Ayah 51 of 10

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizul Yahooda wan nasaaraaa awliyaaa'; ba'duhum awliyaaa'u ba'd; wa mai yatawallahum minkum fa innahoo minhum; innal laaha laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen
51. O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and Christians as friends [164]. They are friends of each other among themselves [165]. And whoever among you makes them his friends, then he is one of them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the unjust people [166].
Ayah 52 of 10

Fataral lazeena fee quloobihim maraduny yusaari'oona feehim yaqooloona nakhshaaa an tuseebanaa daaa'irah; fa'asallaahu ai yaatiya bilfathi aw amrim min 'indihee fa yusbihoo 'alaa maaa asarroo feee anfusihim naadimeen
52. You will come across such people who have a disease in their hearts, and they run towards the Jews and Christians, saying: "We fear lest a misfortune befall us [167]." So perhaps Allah will bring a victory soon or a Commandment from Himself [168], and they will then be regretful for what they had concealed in their hearts [169].
Ayah 53 of 10

Wa yaqoolul lazeena aamanooo ahaaa'ulaaa'il lazeena aqsamoo billaahi jahda aimaanihim innahum lama'akum; habitat a'maaluhum fa asbahoo khaasireen
53. And the believers say: "Are these the same people who swore by Allah in their strongest oaths that they were with you? Their deeds have been destroyed [170], and they have become losers."
Ayah 54 of 10

Yaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo mai yartadda minkum 'an deenihee fasawfa ya'tillaahu biqawminy yuhibbuhum wa yuhibboonahoo azillatin 'alal mu'mineena a'izzatin 'alal kaafireena yujaahidoona fee sabeelil laahi wa laa yakhaafoona lawmata laaa'im; zaalika fadlul laahi yu'teehi mai yashaaa'; wallaahu Waasi'un 'Aleem
54. O you who believe! Whoever among you deviates from your religion [171], then soon Allah will bring a people [172] whom He loves and who love Him. They will be humble towards the believers and stern towards the disbelievers. They will fight in the way of Allah and will not fear the reproach of those who reproach them [173]. This is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.
Ayah 55 of 10

Innamaa waliyyukumul laahu wa Rasooluhoo wal lazeena aamanul lazeena yuqeemoonas Salaata wa yu'toonaz Zakaata wa hum raaki'oon
55. Only Allah is your friend [174], and His Messenger, and the believers who establish Prayer, pay Zakat, and bow down before Allah [175].
Ayah 56 of 10

Wa mai yatawallal laaha wa Rasoolahoo wallazeena aamanoo fa inna hizbal laahi humul ghaaliboon
56. And whoever takes Allah, His Messenger, and the believers as friends, then surely the party of Allah will be victorious [176].

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizul lazeenat takhazoo deenakum huzuwanw wa la'ibam minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba min qablikum walkuffaara awliyaaa'; wattaqul laaha in kuntum muu'mineen
57. O you who believe! Do not take as friends those who make a mockery and a plaything of your religion, from among those who were given the Book before you [177], and the disbelievers [178]. And fear Allah, if you are believers.
Ayah 58 of 10

58. And when you call the people for Prayer [179], they make a mockery and a plaything of it. That is because they are people who do not understand [180].
Ayah 59 of 10

Ayah 60 of 10

60. Say, "Shall I inform you of those who are in a worse condition with Allah than that?
