About the surah Al-Qasas

Al-Qasas (meaning: The Story) is the 28th chapter (Surah) of the Qur'an with 88 verses (Ayat).

The summary/theme of the surah Al-Qasas:

 The revelation of surah Qasas was intended to give the promise of victory to those believers who were a minority before migrating from Mecca to Medina and endured the most difficult conditions at the time of the Prophet.

Lesson learned from surah Al-Qasas:

  1. If Allah's wants something doing, His plans for it are meticulous.  
  2. You cannot give hid'yah (guidance) to whomsoever you love and wish to; it is only Allah's that gives hid'yah.  
  3. Allah's knows what the chests conceal and what they expose.  
  4. If Allah's was to cause persistent daylight, there is no power that can cause nightfall.  
  5. If Allah's was to cause persistent nightfall, there is no power besides Him that can bring daylight.  
  6. Do not become exceedingly happy; Allah's doesn’t like such people.

نَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكَ مِن نَّبَإِ مُوسَىٰ وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ

Natloo 'alaika min naba-i Moosaa wa Fir'awna bilhaqqi liqawminy yu'miinoon
3਼ ਹੇ ਨਬੀ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੂਸਾ ਤੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਠੀਕ-ਠਾਕ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਇਹ ਕਿੱਸਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ (ਦੇ ਲਾਭ) ਲਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਈਮਾਨ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਆਇਤ 4 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 10

إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ عَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهۡلَهَا شِيَعٗا يَسۡتَضۡعِفُ طَآئِفَةٗ مِّنۡهُمۡ يُذَبِّحُ أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ وَيَسۡتَحۡيِۦ نِسَآءَهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ

Inna Fir'awna 'alaa fil ardi wa ja'ala ahlahaa shiya'ai yastad'ifu taaa'ifatam minhum yuzabbihu abnaaa'ahum wa yastahyee nisaaa'ahum; innahoo kaana minal mufsideen
4਼ ਫ਼ਿਰਔਨ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ (ਮਿਸਰ) ਉੱਤੇ ਸਰਕਸ਼ੀ (ਬਗਾਵਤ) ਫੈਲਾ ਰੱਖੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਧੜ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੰਡ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਧੜੇ (ਬਨੀ-ਇਸਰਾਈਲ) ਨੂੰ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਦਬਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਰਖਦਾ ਸੀ। ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਸਾਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਸੀ।

ਆਇਤ 5 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 10

وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡ أَئِمَّةٗ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ

Wa nureedu an namunna 'alal lazeenas tud'ifoo fil ardi wa naj'alahum a'immatanw wa naj'alahumul waariseen
5਼ ਅਸੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਅਹਿਸਾਨ ਕਰੀਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ (ਬੇ-ਵਸ) ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਦਬਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ (ਮਿਸਰ ਦਾ) ਵਾਰਸ ਬਣਾ ਦਈਏ।

ਆਇਤ 6 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 10

وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنُرِيَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَحۡذَرُونَ

Wa numakkina lahum fil ardi wa nuriya Fir'awna wa Haamaana wa junoodahumaa minhum maa kaanoo yahzaroon
6਼ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ) ਨੂੰ (ਫ਼ਲਸਤੀਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂਸੱਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਔਨ, ਹਾਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ) ਉਹ (ਭਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਣੀ ਸੱਚ ਕਰ) ਵਿਖਾ ਦਈਏ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਡਰ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ।

ਆਇਤ 7 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 10

وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنۡ أَرۡضِعِيهِۖ فَإِذَا خِفۡتِ عَلَيۡهِ فَأَلۡقِيهِ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِي وَلَا تَحۡزَنِيٓۖ إِنَّا رَآدُّوهُ إِلَيۡكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

Wa awhainaaa ilaaa ummi Moosaaa an ardi'eehi faizaa khifti 'alaihi fa alqeehi filyammi wa laa takhaafee wa laa tahzaneee innaa raaaddoohu ilaiki wa jaa'iloohu minal mursaleen
7਼ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ (ਮੂਸਾ) ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਧ ਪਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਰਹਿ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਇਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ (ਕਿ ਫ਼ਿਰਔਨ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਨਾ ਦੇਣ) ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ (ਮੂਸਾ) ਨੂੰ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਰੋੜ੍ਹ ਦਈਂ, ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਖ਼ੌਫ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਨਾ। ਅਸੀਂ (ਅੱਲਾਹ) ਇਸ (ਮੂਸਾ) ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਮੋੜ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਗ਼ੰਬਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ।

ਆਇਤ 8 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 10

فَٱلۡتَقَطَهُۥٓ ءَالُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ لِيَكُونَ لَهُمۡ عَدُوّٗا وَحَزَنًاۗ إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُواْ خَٰطِـِٔينَ

Faltaqatahooo Aalu Fir'awna li yakoona lahum 'aduwwanw wa hazanaa; inna Fir'awna wa Haamaana wa junooda humaa kaanoo khaati'een
8਼ ਸੋ ਫ਼ਿਰਔਨ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ (ਮੂਸਾ) ਨੂੰ (ਦਰਿਆ ’ਚੋਂ) ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ (ਮੂਸਾ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ) ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਫ਼ਿਰਔਨੀਆਂ) ਦਾ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣੇ। ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਫ਼ਿਰਔਨ, ਹਾਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ (ਸਾਥੀ) ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਸਨ।

ਆਇਤ 9 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 10

وَقَالَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ قُرَّتُ عَيۡنٖ لِّي وَلَكَۖ لَا تَقۡتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوۡ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدٗا وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

Wa qaalatim ra atu Fir'awna qurratu 'aynil lee wa lak; laa taqtuloohu 'asaaa aiyanfa'anaa aw nattakhizahoo waladanw wa hum laa yash'uroon
9਼ (ਫ਼ਿਰਔਨ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਤਾਂ) ਫ਼ਿਰਔਨ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਇਹ ਬੱਚਾ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਠੰਢਕ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੋ, ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਲਾਹੇਵੰਦ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਈਏ। (ਅਸਲ ਗੱਲ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਉਹ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਣਜਾਣ ਸੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਝ ਵੀ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ (ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ)।

ਆਇਤ 10 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 10

وَأَصۡبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَٰرِغًاۖ إِن كَادَتۡ لَتُبۡدِي بِهِۦ لَوۡلَآ أَن رَّبَطۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

Wa asbaha fu'aadu ummi Moosaa faarighan in kaadat latubdee bihee law laaa arrabatnaa 'alaa qalbihaa litakoona minal mu'mineen
10਼ ਉੱਧਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਸੀ, ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਨਾ ਦੁਆਉਂਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਖੋਲ ਦਿੰਦੀ। (ਇਹ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ) ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ (ਸਾਡੇ ਵਚਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ) ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
