Commentary of Surah Ad-Dukhan – Verse 53

Wearing fine silk and brocade [54], facing one another [55].

54. Their garments of honour

They would be wearing different clothes of silk. Fine silk is called "Sundus", while thick silk is called "Mahrūq" or brocade.

55. Their manner of sitting

This means they will be sitting in a circle, facing one another, so that no one’s back is turned towards another — just as they used to sit in Zikr gatherings in the world.
