إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

Inna haazaa lafis suhu fil oolaa

18. Verily, this is taught in the earlier [21] scriptures. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

Tafseer (Commentary) of Ayah 87:18

🔹 Meaning of 'Earlier Scriptures'

In Arabic, SAHEEFAH refers to divine pages containing (اللَّهُ) Allah’s revelations.
These were booklets revealed to various Prophets before the Qur'an.

1️⃣ Total Number of Heavenly Scriptures

400 SAHEEFAHS were revealed in total:
🔹 10 – Hazrat Adam (عليه السلام)
🔹 50 – Hazrat Sheeth (عليه السلام)
🔹 10 – Hazrat Ibrahim (عليه السلام)
🔹 10 – Hazrat Musa (عليه السلام) (in addition to the Taurah)

Conclusion:

The message of truth has been present since ancient times.
The Qur'an confirms the teachings found in earlier divine scriptures.
