The summary/theme of the surah Al-Masad

Sūrah al-Masad, also known as Sūrah al-Lahab, is an early Makkan Sūrah focused on the topic of the fate in the Hereafter life of Abū Lahab and his wife. This Sūrah is very short yer sends a strong message and was revealed at the start of Islamic History after an incident in which Abū Lahab insulted the Prophet (peace be upon him)

Lesson learned from the surah Al-Masad

  1. Never cause grief to someone involved in the work of Allah's.  
  2. Wealth and power are worthless if your actions do not please Allah's.  
  3. Assisting someone in opposing the people of Allah's is also blameworthy.  
  4. How grave must the actions of AbÅ« Lahab have been for Allah's to reveal a whole Surah in his condemnation, to be read by all until the Day of Judgement? May Allah's protect us from similar outcomes.

تَبَّتۡ يَدَآ أَبِي لَهَبٖ وَتَبَّ

Tabbat yadaa abee Lahabinw-wa tabb
1. Que périssent les mains d’Abu Lahab, et qu’il périsse lui-même !

Maa aghnaa 'anhu maaluhoo wa ma kasab

Wamra-atuhoo hammaa latal-hatab
4. ainsi que sa femme, porteuse de bois mort,

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبۡلٞ مِّن مَّسَدِۭ

Fee jeedihaa hablum mim-masad
5. et portant au cou une corde de fibres tressées!
