The summary/theme of the surah Al-Muj'dilah

The theme of this surah is: 1-6 Pagans practice of divorce through 'Zihar' (calling his wife his mother) is prohibited and the Penalty for practicing 'Zihar' 7-13 Etiquettes of holding a meeting and Order to spend in charity before consulting the Rasool in private.

Lesson learned from surah Al-Muj'dilah

  1. Allah's is the All-Hearing. No word or discussion escapes His Hearing.  
  2. Husbands should learn the rules of ẓih'r.  
  3. Allah's’s knowledge is all-encompassing of His creation.  
  4. Allah's will inform every person of all their actions in this world on the Day of Qiy'mah. Therefore, there will be no escaping the repercussions of one’s deeds in the Hereafter.  
  5. Even when talking privately, do not talk of evil and sin. Rather, talk of righteousness and fear of Allah's.  
  6. When instructed to create space in gatherings of goodness, create space. If you do so, Allah's will create space for you (in your graves; or open up goodness for you in the world and the Hereafter).  
  7. When called towards enjoining good, accept the call.  
  8. Shayá¹­'n’s party shall never succeed; they are the losers.  
  9. The lowest of people are those who oppose and challenge Allah's and His Messenger ï·º.  
  10. Allah's has decreed that He and His Messengers shall prevail.  
  11. Those who truly believe in Allah's and the Last Day, never befriend those who oppose Allah's and His Messenger ï·º, even if they are their fathers, sons, brothers or relatives.  
  12. Allah’s party will ultimately succeed.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 
Verset 1 sur 10

قَدۡ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوۡلَ ٱلَّتِي تُجَٰدِلُكَ فِي زَوۡجِهَا وَتَشۡتَكِيٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ يَسۡمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَآۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعُۢ بَصِيرٌ

Qad sami'al laahu qawlal latee tujaadiluka fee zawjihaa wa tashtakeee ilal laahi wallaahu yasma'u tahaawurakumaa; innal laaha samee'um baseer
1. Allah a entendu les dires de celle qui discutait avec toi au sujet de son époux, et dont les plaintes s’adressaient à Allah. Allah entendait votre entretien, Lui Qui Entend et Voit Tout.
Verset 2 sur 10

ٱلَّذِينَ يُظَٰهِرُونَ مِنكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِهِم مَّا هُنَّ أُمَّهَٰتِهِمۡۖ إِنۡ أُمَّهَٰتُهُمۡ إِلَّا ٱلَّـٰٓـِٔي وَلَدۡنَهُمۡۚ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَيَقُولُونَ مُنكَرٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَزُورٗاۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٞ

Allazeena yuzaahiroona minkum min nisaaa'ihim maa hunnaa ummahaatihim in ummahaatuhum illal laaa'ee waladnahum; wa innaahum la yaqooloona munkaram minal qawli wa zooraa; wa innal laaha la'afuwwun ghafoor
2. Ceux d’entre vous qui répudient leurs femmes en affirmant qu’elles leurs sont désormais aussi défendues que leurs mères,[551] cependant qu’elles ne sont nullement leurs mères – leurs mères étant celles qui les ont enfantés-, ne profèrent en vérité que des paroles condamnables et fausses. Mais Allah est Indulgent et Absoluteur.
Verset 3 sur 10

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُظَٰهِرُونَ مِن نِّسَآئِهِمۡ ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا قَالُواْ فَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٖ مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَتَمَآسَّاۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ تُوعَظُونَ بِهِۦۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ

Wallazeena yuzaahiroona min nisaaa'ihim summa ya'oodoona limaa qaaloo fatahreeru raqabatim min qabli any-yatamaaassaa; zaalikum too'azoona bih; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona khabeer
3. Ceux qui répudient leurs femmes (en prononçant cette formule qui les assimile au dos de leurs mères), puis reviennent sur leur parole, doivent affranchir un esclave avant d’avoir le moindre rapport intime (avec leurs femmes). C’est à cela que vous êtes exhortés. Et Allah est parfaitement Informé de ce que vous faites.
Verset 4 sur 10

فَمَن لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ شَهۡرَيۡنِ مُتَتَابِعَيۡنِ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن يَتَمَآسَّاۖ فَمَن لَّمۡ يَسۡتَطِعۡ فَإِطۡعَامُ سِتِّينَ مِسۡكِينٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِتُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦۚ وَتِلۡكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِۗ وَلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

Famal lam yajid fa siyaamu shahraini mutataabi'ayni min qabli any-yatamaaassaa famal lam yastati' fa-it'aamu sitteena miskeena; zaalika litu'minoo billaahi wa rasoolih'wa tilka hudoodul laah; wa lilkaafireena 'azaabun aleem
4. Quiconque n’en trouve pas les moyens jeûnera deux mois consécutifs, avant d’avoir le moindre rapport intime avec (sa femme). S’il ne le peut, il devra alors nourrir soixante pauvres. Cela, pour que vous croyiez en Allah et en Son Messager. Telles sont les limites (hudûd) d’Allah, et aux mécréants il est (réservé) un supplice très douloureux.
Verset 5 sur 10

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآدُّونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ كُبِتُواْ كَمَا كُبِتَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ وَقَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَآ ءَايَٰتِۭ بَيِّنَٰتٖۚ وَلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ

Innal lazeena yuhaaaddoonal laaha wa Rasoolahoo kubitoo kamaa kubital lazeena min qablihim; wa qad anzalnaaa aayaatim baiyinaat; wa lilkaa fireena 'azaabum muheen
5. Ceux qui défient Allah et Son Messager seront défaits et humiliés comme le furent, autrefois, leurs prédécesseurs. Nous avons révélé des Signes explicites, et les mécréants auront un supplice avilissant,
Verset 6 sur 10

يَوۡمَ يَبۡعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعٗا فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوٓاْۚ أَحۡصَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ وَنَسُوهُۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ

Yawma yab'asuhumul laahu jamee'an fayunabbi'uhum bimaa 'amiloo; ahsaahul laahu wa nasooh; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai'in shaheed
6. le jour où Allah les ressuscitera tous et les informera de ce qu’ils auront fait. Allah aura recensé (leurs œuvres), et eux les auront oubliées. Allah est Témoin de Toute chose.
Verset 7 sur 10

أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ مَا يَكُونُ مِن نَّجۡوَىٰ ثَلَٰثَةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ رَابِعُهُمۡ وَلَا خَمۡسَةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ سَادِسُهُمۡ وَلَآ أَدۡنَىٰ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَآ أَكۡثَرَ إِلَّا هُوَ مَعَهُمۡ أَيۡنَ مَا كَانُواْۖ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُواْ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٌ

Alam tara annal laaha ya'lamu maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi maa yakoonu min najwaa salaasatin illaa Huwa raabi'uhum wa laa khamsatin illaa huwa saadisuhum wa laaa adnaa min zaalika wa laaa aksara illaa huwa ma'ahum ayna, maa kaanoo summa yunabbi'uhum bimaa 'amiloo yawmal qiyaamah; innal laaha bikulli shai'in aleem
7. Ne vois-tu pas qu’Allah Sait ce qu’il y a dans les cieux et sur terre ? Il n’est point de confidence entre trois (personnes) sans qu’Il n’en soit le quatrième ; ni entre cinq sans qu’Il n’en soit le sixième. Qu’il s’agisse de moins (d’individus) ou de plus, Il sera toujours avec eux où qu’ils soient. Puis, au Jour de la Résurrection, Il les informera de ce qu’ils auront fait. Allah Sait parfaitement Toute chose.
Verset 8 sur 10

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ نُهُواْ عَنِ ٱلنَّجۡوَىٰ ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا نُهُواْ عَنۡهُ وَيَتَنَٰجَوۡنَ بِٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٰنِ وَمَعۡصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِۖ وَإِذَا جَآءُوكَ حَيَّوۡكَ بِمَا لَمۡ يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ ٱللَّهُ وَيَقُولُونَ فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ لَوۡلَا يُعَذِّبُنَا ٱللَّهُ بِمَا نَقُولُۚ حَسۡبُهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُ يَصۡلَوۡنَهَاۖ فَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

Alam tara ilal lazeena nuhoo 'anin najwaa summa ya'oodoona limaa nuhoo 'anhu wa yatanaajawna bil ismi wal'udwaani wa ma'siyatir rasooli wa izaa jaaa'ooka haiyawka bimaa lam yuhai yika bihil laahu wa yaqooloona fee anfusihim law laa yu'azzibunal laahu bimaa naqool; hasbuhum jahannnamu yaslawnahaa fabi'sal maseer
8. N’as-tu pas vu ceux à qui les entretiens secrets ont été défendus ? Ils reviennent (malgré tout) à ce qui leur a été défendu et conspirent pour commettre des péchés et se livrer aux transgressions ainsi qu’à la rébellion contre le Messager. Quand ils viennent te trouver, ils utilisent une salutation dont Allah ne t’a pas salué, et disent dans le secret du cœur : « Mais pourquoi Allah ne sévit-Il donc pas contre nous qui avons usé de ce langage ? » Que la Géhenne leur suffise, où ils brûleront, et quel affreux devenir !
Verset 9 sur 10

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا تَنَٰجَيۡتُمۡ فَلَا تَتَنَٰجَوۡاْ بِٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٰنِ وَمَعۡصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَتَنَٰجَوۡاْ بِٱلۡبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقۡوَىٰۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِيٓ إِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa tanaajaytum falaa tatanaajaw bil ismi wal 'udwaani wa ma'siyatir rasooli wa tanaajaw bil birri wattaqwaa wattaqul laahal lazeee ilaihi tuhsharoon
9. Ô vous qui avez cru ! Évitez, dans vos entretiens secrets, d’échanger des confidences pour commettre des péchés et vous livrer aux transgressions - (entretiens qui vous inciteraient) à désobéir au Messager. Que vos entretiens secrets (incitent) à la vertu et à la piété. Craignez Allah vers Qui vous serez ramenés en foule.
Verset 10 sur 10

إِنَّمَا ٱلنَّجۡوَىٰ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ لِيَحۡزُنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَلَيۡسَ بِضَآرِّهِمۡ شَيۡـًٔا إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ

Innaman najwaa minash shaitaani liyahzunal lazeena aamanoo wa laisa bidaaarrihim shai'an illaa bi-iznil laah; wa 'alal laahi falyatawakkalil mu'minoon
10. Les entretiens secrets ne relèvent que de Satan (qui les suggère) pour affliger ceux qui ont cru. Mais il ne leur nuira en rien sans la permission d’Allah. C’est donc à Allah que doivent s’en remettre les croyants.
