About Surah Al-Mulk

Al-Mulk (Arabic: الملك, "Sovereignty, Kingdom") is the 67th chapter (surah) of the Quran, comprising 30 verses.

In this surah, Allah's many attributes are emphasized, along with the punishments awaiting those who reject Islam.

Lesson learned from surah Al-Mulk:

  1. Allah's created life and death to test us how we fare in terms of our actions.  
  2. You will never be able to find a crack in the sky.  
  3. Each time a group will be thrown into the Fire of Jahannam, the angels will ask them whether or not they were warned of this punishment. They will admit that they were warned, but they belied the Messengers.  
  4. Whether you whisper or talk loudly, Allah's knows what your hearts conceal.  
  5. How can we be assured to be safe of the earth swallowing us up as punishment from Allah's?  
  6. How can we be assured of safety from stones raining upon us as punishment from Allah's?  
  7. What if the being who gives us sustenance decides to withdraw from granting it to us?  
  8. The knowledge of the Hour is exclusively with Allah's.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verset 1 sur 10

تَبَٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ

Wa Maryamab nata 'Imraanal lateee ahsanat farjahaa fanafakhnaa feehee mir roohinaa wa saddaqat bi kalimaati Rabbihaa wa Kutubihee wakaanat minal qaaniteen (End Juz 28)
1. Béni soit Celui Qui détient en Sa Main la Royauté et Qui de Toute chose est Infiniment Capable.

Verset 2 sur 10

ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ

Allazee khalaqal mawta walhayaata liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu 'amalaa; wa huwal 'azeezul ghafoor
2. Celui Qui a créé la mort et la vie pour voir, en vous éprouvant, qui de vous fait meilleure œuvre ; et c’est Lui le Tout-Puissant, l’Absoluteur.

Verset 3 sur 10

ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ طِبَاقٗاۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مِن تَفَٰوُتٖۖ فَٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ هَلۡ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٖ

Allazee khalaqa sab'a samaawaatin tibaaqam maa taraa fee khalqir rahmaani min tafaawut farji'il basara hal taraa min futoor
3. Celui Qui a créé sept cieux qui se superposent. Aucune irrégularité ne se perçoit dans la création du Tout Clément. Lève à nouveau les yeux, y vois-tu la moindre fêlure ?

Verset 4 sur 10

ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيۡنِ يَنقَلِبۡ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئٗا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٞ

Summar ji'il basara karrataini yanqalib ilaikal basaru khaasi'anw wa huwa haseer
4. Puis reviens-y par deux fois du regard. Ton regard retournera vers toi humilié et impuissant.

Verset 5 sur 10

وَلَقَدۡ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا رُجُومٗا لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

Wa laqad zaiyannas samaaa'ad dunyaa bimasaa beeha wa ja'alnaahaa rujoomal lish shayaateeni wa a'tadnaa lahum 'azaabas sa'eer
5. Nous avons orné de luminaires (flamboyants) le ciel le plus proche de ce bas monde. Nous en avons fait des météores pour lapider les démons. Et Nous leur avons préparé le supplice du Brasier.

Verset 6 sur 10

وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

Wa lillazeena kafaroo bi rabbihim 'azaabu jahannama wa bi'sal maseer
6. À ceux qui auront renié leur Seigneur, (il sera réservé) le supplice de la Géhenne, et quel affreux destin !

Verset 7 sur 10

إِذَآ أُلۡقُواْ فِيهَا سَمِعُواْ لَهَا شَهِيقٗا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ

Izaaa ulqoo feehaa sami'oo lahaa shaheeqanw wa hiya tafoor
7. Quand ils y seront précipités, ils en percevront un râle et un bouillonnement.

Verset 8 sur 10

تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَيۡظِۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلۡقِيَ فِيهَا فَوۡجٞ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِيرٞ

Takaadu tamayyazu minal ghaizz kullamaaa ulqiya feehaa fawjun sa alahum khazanatuhaaa alam ya'tikum nazeer
8. (La Géhenne) sera sur le point d’exploser de rage. Chaque fois qu’on y jettera un contingent (de damnés) ses gardiens leur demanderont : « N’est-il pas venu vers vous quelqu’un pour vous mettre en garde ? »

Verset 9 sur 10

قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَآءَنَا نَذِيرٞ فَكَذَّبۡنَا وَقُلۡنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ كَبِيرٖ

Qaaloo balaa qad jaaa'anaa nazeerun fakazzabnaa wa qulnaa maa nazzalal laahu min shai in in antum illaa fee dalaalin kabeer
9. « Si, répondront-ils, il nous est bien venu un Envoyé pour nous avertir, mais nous l’avons traité de menteur en disant : “Allah n’a rien révélé et vous êtes, (toi Muhammad et tes partisans) en plein égarement. ” »

Verset 10 sur 10

وَقَالُواْ لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

Wa qaaloo law kunnaa nasma'u awna'qilu maa kunnaa feee as haabis sa'eer
10. Ils diront encore : « Si nous avions su écouter ou raisonner, nous n’aurions pas été parmi les hôtes du Brasier ! »
