At-Tahrim (Arabic: التّحرِيم, "The Prohibition") is the 66th Surah (chapter) of the Quran, and it contains 12 verses (ayahs).

The summary/theme of the surah at-Tahrim :

According to this Surah, the Prophet, whose reverence and respect Allah Himself enjoins as a necessary part of the faith of His servants, once made a thing allowed by Allah unlawful for himself only to please his wives.

Lesson learned from surah at-Tahrim :

  1. Do not forbid unto yourself anything Allah's has made lawful for you, in order to please others.
  2. Never think of the Prophet ﷺ to be alone, because Allah's, Jibr\u{012B}l, the good Muslims and the angels, all staunchly support him.
  3. The believers are duty-bound to save themselves and their family members from the Fire.
  4. The fuel of the Fire of Jahannam shall be people and stones.
  5. The angels appointed over Jahannam are severe and tough, unwavering in their obedience to Allah's's commands.
  6. Repent to Allah's sincerely.
  7. Allah's shall not disgrace the Prophet ﷺ nor those who believed with him, on the Day of Judgement.
  8. Read this du'': رَبÙ'َنَا أَتÙ'Ù...ÙÙ...Ù' Ù"َنَا نÙورَنَا وَاغÙ'ÙÙرÙ' Ù"َنَا إÙنÙ'َكَ عَÙ"َى كÙÙ"Ù'Ù شَيÙ'ءÙ Ù'َدÙيرٌ 'Our Rabb! Perfect for us our light, and forgive us. Indeed you are powerful over everything.'

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 
Verset 1 sur 10

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَآ أَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ لَكَۖ تَبۡتَغِي مَرۡضَاتَ أَزۡوَٰجِكَۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

Yaaa ayyuhan nabiyyu lima tuharrimu maaa ahallal laahu laka tabtaghee mardaata azwaajik; wallaahu ghafoorur raheem
1. Ô Prophète ! Pourquoi, pour faire plaisir à tes épouses, t’interdis-tu ce qu’Allah a rendu pour toi licite ? Allah est Absoluteur et Tout Miséricordieux.
Verset 2 sur 10

قَدۡ فَرَضَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ تَحِلَّةَ أَيۡمَٰنِكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

Qad faradal laahu lakum tahillata aymaanikum; wallaahu mawlaakum wa huwal 'aleemul hakeem
2. Allah a prescrit pour vous (le moyen) de vous dégager licitement de vos serments. Allah est votre Protecteur et c’est Lui l’Omniscient, le Sage.
Verset 3 sur 10

وَإِذۡ أَسَرَّ ٱلنَّبِيُّ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضِ أَزۡوَٰجِهِۦ حَدِيثٗا فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَتۡ بِهِۦ وَأَظۡهَرَهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ عَرَّفَ بَعۡضَهُۥ وَأَعۡرَضَ عَنۢ بَعۡضٖۖ فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَهَا بِهِۦ قَالَتۡ مَنۡ أَنۢبَأَكَ هَٰذَاۖ قَالَ نَبَّأَنِيَ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ

Wa iz asarran nabiyyu ilaa ba'di azwaajihee hadeesan falammaa nabba at bihee wa azharahul laahu 'alaihi 'arrafa ba'dahoo wa a'rada 'am ba'din falammaa nabba ahaa bihee qaalat man amba aka haaza qaala nabba aniyal 'aleemul khabeer
3. Quand le Prophète fit une confidence à l’une de ses épouses, et que celle-ci s’en fut le divulguer (à une autre épouse), Allah en informa (le Prophète) qui en révéla une partie et ne dit mot de l’autre. Informée, (l’épouse) dit : « Mais qui donc te l’a appris ? » « Celui Qui me l’a appris, répondit (le Messager), est l’Omniscient, le parfaitement Informé. »
Verset 4 sur 10

إِن تَتُوبَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ صَغَتۡ قُلُوبُكُمَاۖ وَإِن تَظَٰهَرَا عَلَيۡهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ مَوۡلَىٰهُ وَجِبۡرِيلُ وَصَٰلِحُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۖ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ ظَهِيرٌ

In tatoobaaa ilal laahi faqad saghat quloobukumaa wa in tazaaharaa 'alaihi fa innal laaha huwa mawlaahu wa jibreelu wa saalihul mu'mineen; wal malaaa'ikatu ba'da zaalika zaheer
4. Si vous deux[564] vous vous repentez auprès d’Allah, c’est que vos cœurs ont écouté (la voix de la raison) ; et si vous vous liguez contre lui,[565] (alors sachez qu’) Allah sera Son allié, ainsi que (l’Ange) Gabriel et les meilleurs d’entre les croyants, puis les Anges, après cela, sauront le soutenir.
Verset 5 sur 10

عَسَىٰ رَبُّهُۥٓ إِن طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَن يُبۡدِلَهُۥٓ أَزۡوَٰجًا خَيۡرٗا مِّنكُنَّ مُسۡلِمَٰتٖ مُّؤۡمِنَٰتٖ قَٰنِتَٰتٖ تَـٰٓئِبَٰتٍ عَٰبِدَٰتٖ سَـٰٓئِحَٰتٖ ثَيِّبَٰتٖ وَأَبۡكَارٗا

'Asaa rabbuhooo in tallaqakunna anyyubdilahooo azwaajan khairam minkunna muslimaatim mu'minaatin qaanitaatin taaa'ibaatin 'aabidaatin saaa'ihaatin saiyibaatinw wa abkaaraa
5. Il se peut, s’il divorce d’avec vous, qu’Allah lui donne de bien meilleures épouses que vous : des musulmanes, croyantes, obéissantes, repentantes, qui prient et jeûnent assidûment, ayant été déjà mariées ou encore vierges.
Verset 6 sur 10

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَأَهۡلِيكُمۡ نَارٗا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُ عَلَيۡهَا مَلَـٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٞ شِدَادٞ لَّا يَعۡصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo qooo anfusakum wa ahleekum naaranw waqoodu han naasu wal hijaaratu 'alaihaa malaaa'ikatun ghilaazun shidaadul laa ya'soonal laaha maa amarahum wa yaf'aloona maa yu'maroon
6. Ô vous qui avez cru ! Préservez vos propres personnes ainsi que vos familles d’un Feu qui sera alimenté par les hommes et les pierres, et (qui sera gardé) par des Anges rudes et intraitables, qui ne désobéissent jamais aux ordres d’Allah et exécutent ce qu’Il leur enjoint (de faire).
Verset 7 sur 10

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَا تَعۡتَذِرُواْ ٱلۡيَوۡمَۖ إِنَّمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena kafaroo la ta'tazirul yawma innamaa tujzawna maa kuntum ta'maloon
7. Ô vous qui avez mécru ! N’invoquez aujourd’hui aucune excuse ! Car vous serez seulement rétribués selon ce que vous faisiez.
Verset 8 sur 10

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةٗ نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَيُدۡخِلَكُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡزِي ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥۖ نُورُهُمۡ يَسۡعَىٰ بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَتۡمِمۡ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَآۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo toobooo ilal laahi tawbatan nasoohan 'asaa rabbukum any-yukaffira 'ankum sayyi aatikum wa yudkhilakum jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru yawma laa yukhzil laahun nabiyya wallazeena aamanoo ma'ahoo nooruhum yas'aa baina aydeehim wa bi aymaanihim yaqooloona rabbanaaa atmim lanaa nooranaa waghfir lana innaka 'alaa kulli shai'in qadeer
8. Ô vous qui avez cru ! Repentez-vous auprès d’Allah d’un repentir sincère, peut-être que votre Seigneur rachètera vos péchés et vous fera entrer dans des jardins sous lesquels coulent les rivières, en ce jour où Allah évitera l’humiliation au Prophète et à ceux qui auront cru avec lui. Leur lumière se déploiera devant eux et sur leur droite, et ils diront : « Seigneur, veuille parfaire notre lumière ! Pardonne-nous ! Tu es de Toute chose Infiniment Capable !
Verset 9 sur 10

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ جَٰهِدِ ٱلۡكُفَّارَ وَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱغۡلُظۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

Yaaa ayyuhan nabiyyu jaahidil kuffaara walmunaa-fiqeena waghluz 'alaihim; wa ma'waahum jahannamu wa bi'sal maseer
9. Ô Prophète ! Lutte contre les mécréants et les hypocrites ! Sois rude avec eux ! Leur séjour sera la Géhenne, et quelle affreuse destinée !
Verset 10 sur 10

ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱمۡرَأَتَ نُوحٖ وَٱمۡرَأَتَ لُوطٖۖ كَانَتَا تَحۡتَ عَبۡدَيۡنِ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا صَٰلِحَيۡنِ فَخَانَتَاهُمَا فَلَمۡ يُغۡنِيَا عَنۡهُمَا مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـٔٗا وَقِيلَ ٱدۡخُلَا ٱلنَّارَ مَعَ ٱلدَّـٰخِلِينَ

Darabal laahu masalal lillazeena kafarum ra ata Noohinw wamra ata Loot, kaanataa tahta 'abdaini min 'ibaadinaa saalihaini fakhaanataahumaa falam yughniyaa 'anhumaa minal laahi shai anw-wa qeelad khulan naara ma'ad Daakhileen
10. Allah a donné comme exemple aux mécréants celui de la femme de Noé et de la femme de Loth, lesquelles vivaient sous l’autorité de deux de Nos serviteurs les plus vertueux. Or elles les trahirent (en choisissant la mécréance) et (leurs époux) ne purent rien pour elles auprès d’Allah. Il leur sera dit : « Entrez toutes les deux en Enfer, avec ceux qui vont y entrer ! »
