About Surah Al-Mulk

Al-Mulk (Arabic: الملك, "Sovereignty, Kingdom") is the 67th chapter (surah) of the Quran, comprising 30 verses.

The summary/theme of the surah Al-Mulk:

In this surah, Allah's many attributes are emphasized, along with the punishments awaiting those who reject Islam.

Lesson learned from surah Al-Mulk:

  1. Allah's created life and death to test us how we fare in terms of our actions.  
  2. You will never be able to find a crack in the sky.  
  3. Each time a group will be thrown into the Fire of Jahannam, the angels will ask them whether or not they were warned of this punishment. They will admit that they were warned, but they belied the Messengers.  
  4. Whether you whisper or talk loudly, Allah's knows what your hearts conceal.  
  5. How can we be assured to be safe of the earth swallowing us up as punishment from Allah's?  
  6. How can we be assured of safety from stones raining upon us as punishment from Allah's?  
  7. What if the being who gives us sustenance decides to withdraw from granting it to us?  
  8. The knowledge of the Hour is exclusively with Allah's.

تَبَٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ

Wa Maryamab nata 'Imraanal lateee ahsanat farjahaa fanafakhnaa feehee mir roohinaa wa saddaqat bi kalimaati Rabbihaa wa Kutubihee wakaanat minal qaaniteen (End Juz 28)
Segensreich ist Derjenige, in Dessen Hand die Herrschaft ist, und Er hat zu allem die Macht.

ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ

Allazee khalaqal mawta walhayaata liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu 'amalaa; wa huwal 'azeezul ghafoor
(Er,) Der den Tod und das Leben erschaffen hat, damit Er euch prüfe, wer von euch die besten Taten begeht. Und Er ist der Allmächtige und Allvergebende.

ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ طِبَاقٗاۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مِن تَفَٰوُتٖۖ فَٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ هَلۡ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٖ

Allazee khalaqa sab'a samaawaatin tibaaqam maa taraa fee khalqir rahmaani min tafaawut farji'il basara hal taraa min futoor
(Er,) Der sieben Himmel in Schichten (übereinander) erschaffen hat. Du kannst in der Schöpfung des Allerbarmers keine Ungesetzmäßigkeit sehen. Wende den Blick zurück: Siehst du irgendwelche Risse?

ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيۡنِ يَنقَلِبۡ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئٗا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٞ

Summar ji'il basara karrataini yanqalib ilaikal basaru khaasi'anw wa huwa haseer
Hierauf wende den Blick wiederholt zurück. Der Blick wird zu dir erfolglos und ermüdet zurückkehren.

وَلَقَدۡ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا رُجُومٗا لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

Wa laqad zaiyannas samaaa'ad dunyaa bimasaa beeha wa ja'alnaahaa rujoomal lish shayaateeni wa a'tadnaa lahum 'azaabas sa'eer
Wir haben ja den untersten Himmel mit Lampen geschmückt und haben sie zu Wurfgeschossen gegen die Satane gemacht. Und bereitet haben Wir für sie die Strafe der Feuerglut.

وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

Wa lillazeena kafaroo bi rabbihim 'azaabu jahannama wa bi'sal maseer
Und für diejenigen, die ihren Herrn verleugnen, wird es die Strafe der Hölle geben - ein schlimmer Ausgang!

إِذَآ أُلۡقُواْ فِيهَا سَمِعُواْ لَهَا شَهِيقٗا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ

Izaaa ulqoo feehaa sami'oo lahaa shaheeqanw wa hiya tafoor
Wenn sie hineingeworfen werden, hören sie von ihr stoßweises Aufheulen, während sie brodelt.

تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَيۡظِۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلۡقِيَ فِيهَا فَوۡجٞ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِيرٞ

Takaadu tamayyazu minal ghaizz kullamaaa ulqiya feehaa fawjun sa alahum khazanatuhaaa alam ya'tikum nazeer
Beinahe würde sie vor Grimm bersten. Jedesmal, wenn eine Schar hineingeworfen wird, werden ihre Wärter sie fragen: Ist zu euch denn kein Warner gekommen?

قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَآءَنَا نَذِيرٞ فَكَذَّبۡنَا وَقُلۡنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ كَبِيرٖ

Qaaloo balaa qad jaaa'anaa nazeerun fakazzabnaa wa qulnaa maa nazzalal laahu min shai in in antum illaa fee dalaalin kabeer
Sie werden sagen: Ja doch, zu uns kam bereits ein Warner; aber wir haben (ihn) der Lüge bezichtigt und gesagt: , Allah hat nichts offenbart; ihr befindet euch nur in großem Irrtum’.

وَقَالُواْ لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

Wa qaaloo law kunnaa nasma'u awna'qilu maa kunnaa feee as haabis sa'eer
Und sie werden sagen: Hätten wir nur gehört und begriffen, wären wir (nun) nicht unter den Insassen der Feuerglut.
