About the surah as-saff

"The Battle Array" or "The Ranks" in Arabic is "الصف" (aṣ-Ṣaff) is the 61st chapter (Surah) of the Quran, with 14 verses (Ayat).

The theme / Summary of the surah as-saff

Muslims of weak faith and those who entered Islam as a cover-up are exhorted in this Surah to demonstrate sincerity in their faith, and to give their lives in the cause of Allah.

Lesson learned from surah as-saff

  1. Don’t tell others to do things you wouldn’t do yourself.  
  2. Allah's loves organisation.  
  3. The disbelievers will try and extinguish the Light of Allah's, but Allah's will ensure His Light remains in spite of their dislike.  
  4. The D\u{012b}n was sent to be dominant over others.  
  5. We need to support the cause of Allah's’s Messenger ﷺ by trying our utmost in propagating his message and teachings.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

Sabbaha lillaahi maa fisamaawaati wa maa fil ardi wa huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem
Allah preist (alles), was in den Himmeln und was auf der Erde ist. Und Er ist der Allmächtige und Allweise.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ

Yaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo lima taqooloona maa laa taf'aloon
O die ihr glaubt, warum sagt ihr, was ihr nicht tut?

كَبُرَ مَقۡتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُواْ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ

Kabura maqtan 'indal laahi an taqooloo maa laa taf'aloon
Welch schwerwiegende Abscheu erregt es bei Allah, daß ihr sagt, was ihr nicht tut.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِهِۦ صَفّٗا كَأَنَّهُم بُنۡيَٰنٞ مَّرۡصُوصٞ

Innal laaha yuhibbul lazeena yuqaatiloona fee sabeelihee saffan ka annahum bunyaanum marsoos
Gewiß, Allah liebt diejenigen, die auf Seinem Weg kämpfen in Reihe, als wären sie ein zusammengefügter Bau.

وَإِذۡ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِۦ يَٰقَوۡمِ لِمَ تُؤۡذُونَنِي وَقَد تَّعۡلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُمۡۖ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوٓاْ أَزَاغَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ

Wa iz qaala Moosa liqawmihee yaa qawmi lima tu'zoonanee wa qat ta'lamoona annee Rasoolul laahi ilaikum falammaa zaaghooo azaaghal laahu quloobahum; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmal faasiqeen
Und als Musa zu seinem Volk sagte: O mein Volk, warum fügt ihr mir Leid zu, wo ihr doch sicher wißt, daß ich Allahs Gesandter an euch bin? Als sie nun abschweiften, ließ Allah ihre Herzen abschweifen. Und Allah leitet das Volk der Frevler nicht recht.

وَإِذۡ قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُم مُّصَدِّقٗا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِ وَمُبَشِّرَۢا بِرَسُولٖ يَأۡتِي مِنۢ بَعۡدِي ٱسۡمُهُۥٓ أَحۡمَدُۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ قَالُواْ هَٰذَا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٞ

Wa iz qaala 'Eesab-nu-Maryama yaa Banee Israaa'eela innee Rasoolul laahi ilaikum musaddiqal limaa baina yadayya minat Tawraati wa mubashshiram bi Rasooliny yaatee mim ba'dis muhooo Ahmad; falammaa jaaa'ahum bil baiyinaati qaaloo haazaa sihrum mubeen
Und als ’Isa, der Sohn Maryams, sagte: O Kinder Isra’ils, gewiß, ich bin Allahs Gesandter an euch, das bestätigend, was von der Tora vor mir (offenbart) war, und einen Gesandten verkündend, der nach mir kommen wird: sein Name ist Ahmad’. Als er nun mit den klaren Beweisen zu ihnen kam, sagten sie: Das ist deutliche Zauberei.

وَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدۡعَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمِۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Wa man azlamu mimma nif taraa 'alal laahil kaziba wa huwa yad'aaa ilal Islaam; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen
Und wer ist ungerechter, als wer gegen Allah Lügen ersinnt, während er zum Islam aufgerufen wird? Und Allah leitet das Volk der Ungerechten nicht recht.

يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطۡفِـُٔواْ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

Yureedoona liyutfi'oo nooral laahi bi afwaahihim wallaahu mutimmu noorihee wa law karihal kaafiroon
Sie wollen gern Allahs Licht mit ihren Mündern auslöschen. Aber Allah wird Sein Licht vollenden, auch wenn es den Ungläubigen zuwider ist.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَرۡسَلَ رَسُولَهُۥ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ ٱلۡحَقِّ لِيُظۡهِرَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلدِّينِ كُلِّهِۦ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكُونَ

Huwal lazee arsala Rasoolahoo bilhudaa wa deenil haqqi liyuzhirahoo 'alad deeni kullihee wa law karihal mushrikoon
Er ist es, Der Seinen Gesandten mit der Rechtleitung und der Religion der Wahrheit gesandt hat, um ihr die Oberhand über alle Religion zu geben, auch wenn es den Götzendienern zuwider ist.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰ تِجَٰرَةٖ تُنجِيكُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo hal adullukum 'alaa tijaaratin tunjeekum min 'azaabin aleem
O die ihr glaubt, soll ich euch auf einen Handel hinweisen, der euch vor schmerzhafter Strafe rettet?
