۞وَلَوۡ يُعَجِّلُ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ ٱلشَّرَّ ٱسۡتِعۡجَالَهُم بِٱلۡخَيۡرِ لَقُضِيَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ أَجَلُهُمۡۖ فَنَذَرُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا فِي طُغۡيَٰنِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ

Wa law yu'ajjilul laahu linnaasish sharra sti' jaalahum bil khairi laqudiya ilaihim 'ajaluhum fa nazarul lazeena laa yarjoona liqaaa'anaa fee tughyaanihim ya'mahoon
૧૧- અને જો અલ્લાહ લોકોને બુરાઈ પહોચાડવામાં એવી જ રીતે ઉતાવળ કરતો, જે રીતે તેઓ ફાયદા માટે ઉતાવળ કરે છે, તો અત્યાર સુધી તેમનો સમય (મોત) આવી પહોચી હોત, (પરંતુ અલ્લાહનો નિયમ આ પ્રમાણેનો નથી) એટલા માટે જે લોકો અમારી પાસે મુલાકાત કરવાની આશા નથી રાખતા તેમને અમે તેમના વિદ્રોહમાં ખુલ્લા છોડી દઈએ છે.

وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ ٱلضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنۢبِهِۦٓ أَوۡ قَاعِدًا أَوۡ قَآئِمٗا فَلَمَّا كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُ ضُرَّهُۥ مَرَّ كَأَن لَّمۡ يَدۡعُنَآ إِلَىٰ ضُرّٖ مَّسَّهُۥۚ كَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ

Wa izaa massal insaanad durru da'aanaa li jambiheee aw qaa'idan aw qaaa'iman falammaa kashafnaa 'anhu durrahoo marra ka an lam yad'unaaa ilaa durrin massah; kazaalika zuyyina lilmusrifeena maa kaanoo ya'maloon
૧૨- અને જ્યારે વ્યક્તિ પર કોઈ મુશ્કેલીમાં આવી પહોચે છે, તો તે અમને સૂતા-સૂતા, બેઠા-બેઠા, ઊભા-ઊભા દરેક સ્થિતિમાં પોકારે છે, પછી જ્યારે અમે તેની મુશ્કેલી તેનાથી દૂર કરીએ છીએ તો તે એવો થઇ જાય છે, જાણે કે તેણે પોતાની મુશ્કેલી વખતે ક્યારેય અમને પોકાર્યા જ ન હતા, આવા હદ વટાવી જનારાઓને તે જ કાર્યો સારે લાગે છે, જે તેઓ કરતા હોય છે.

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡقُرُونَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَمَّا ظَلَمُواْ وَجَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤۡمِنُواْۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

Wa laqad ahlaknal quroona min qablikum lammaa zalamoo wa jaaa'at hum Rusuluhum bil baiyinaati wa maa kaanoo liyu'minoo; kazaalika najzil qawmal mujrimeen
૧૩- અને અમે તમારા પહેલા ઘણી કોમોને નષ્ટ કરી દીધી, જ્યારે કે તેઓએ અત્યાચાર કર્યો, જો કે તેમની પાસે તેમના પયગંબર સ્પષ્ટ પુરાવા લઇને આવ્યા પરંતુ તેઓ ન લાવતા, અમે અપરાધીઓને આવી જ રીતે સજા આપીએ છીએ.

ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ خَلَـٰٓئِفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ لِنَنظُرَ كَيۡفَ تَعۡمَلُونَ

Thumma ja'alnaakum khalaaa'ifa fil ardi min ba'dihim li nanzura kaifa ta'maloon
૧૪- ત્યાર પછી અમે તમને તેમના બદલામાં દુનિયામાં નાયબ બનાવ્યા, જેથી અમે જોઇ લઇએ કે તમે કેવી રીતે કાર્ય કરો છો.

وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا ٱئۡتِ بِقُرۡءَانٍ غَيۡرِ هَٰذَآ أَوۡ بَدِّلۡهُۚ قُلۡ مَا يَكُونُ لِيٓ أَنۡ أُبَدِّلَهُۥ مِن تِلۡقَآيِٕ نَفۡسِيٓۖ إِنۡ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّۖ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ إِنۡ عَصَيۡتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ

Wa izaa tutlaa 'alaihim aayaatunaa baiyinaatin qaalal lazeena laa yarjoona liqaaa'a na'ti bi Qur'aanin ghairi haazaaa aw baddilh; qul maa yakoonu leee 'an 'ubaddilahoo min tilqaaa'i nafsee in attabi'u illaa maa yoohaaa ilaiya inneee akhaafu in 'asaytu Rabbee 'azaaba Yawmin 'Azeem
૧૫- અને જ્યારે તે (કાફિરો) સમક્ષ અમારી સ્પષ્ટ આયતો પઢવામાં આવે છે જેઓ અમારી પાસે પાછા ફરવાની આશા નથી ધરાવતા, તેઓ એવું કહે છે કે આના સિવાય બીજું કુરઆન લઇ આવો અથવા આમાં કંઈક સુધારોવધારો કરી દો, તમે તેમને કહી દો કે મને આ અધિકાર નથી કે હું મારા તરફથી આ (કુરઆન)માં સુધારોવધારો કરું, બસ ! હું તો તેનું જ અનુસરણ કરું છું, જે મારી પાસે વહી દ્વારા પહોંચ્યું છે, જો હું મારા પાલનહારની અવજ્ઞા કરું, તો હું એક મોટા દિવસની અઝાબનો ડર રાખુ છું.

قُل لَّوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا تَلَوۡتُهُۥ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَلَآ أَدۡرَىٰكُم بِهِۦۖ فَقَدۡ لَبِثۡتُ فِيكُمۡ عُمُرٗا مِّن قَبۡلِهِۦٓۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ

Qul law shaaa'al laahu maa talawtuhoo 'alaikum wa laaa adraakum bihee faqad labistu feekum 'umuran min qablih; afalaa ta'qiloon
૧૬- તમે એવું કહી દો કે જો અલ્લાહ ઇચ્છે, તો હું તમારી સમક્ષ આ કુરઆન પઢીને ન સંભળાવતો અને ન તો અલ્લાહ તઆલા તમને તેની જાણ કરતો, કારણકે હું તમારી સાથે મારા જીવનનો એક લાંબો સમય વિતાવી ચૂક્યો છું, તો પણ તમે સમજતા નથી ?

فَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوۡ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ

Faman azlamu mimmanif taraa 'alal laahi kaziban aw kazzaba bi Aayaatih; innahoo laa yuflihul mujrimoon
૧૭- તો તે વ્યક્તિ કરતા વધારે જાલિમ કોણ હોઈ શકે છે, જે અલ્લાહ પર જૂઠાણું બાંધે અથવા તેની આયતોને જૂઠ્ઠી ઠેરવે, નિ:શંક આવા જાલિમોને ક્યારેય સફળતા નહીં મળે.

وَيَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُمۡ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمۡ وَيَقُولُونَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُفَعَـٰٓؤُنَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِۚ قُلۡ أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا لَا يَعۡلَمُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ

Wa ya'budoona min doonil laahi maa laa yadurruhum wa laa yanfa'uhum wa yaqooloona haaa'ulaaa'i shufa'aaa 'unaa 'indal laah; qul 'a tunabbi 'oonal laaha bi maa laa ya'lamu fis samaawaati wa laa fil ard; subhaanahoo wa Ta'aalaa 'ammaa yushrikoon
૧૮- અને આ લોકો અલ્લાહને છોડીને એવી વસ્તુઓની બંદગી કરે છે, જે ન તો તેમને કોઈ નુકસાન પહોંચાડી શકે છે અને ન તો તેમને કોઈ ફાયદો પહોંચાડી શકે છે અને કહે છે કે આ લોકો અલ્લાહની સમક્ષ અમારા માટે ભલામણ કરશે. તમે કહી દો કે શું તમે અલ્લાહને એવી વસ્તુની જાણ આપી રહ્યા છો, જે અલ્લાહ તઆલાને આકાશો અને ઝમીનમાં ખબર જ નથી, તે આ પ્રમાણની વસ્તુથી પવિત્ર અને સર્વગ્રાહી છે, તે લોકોના ભાગીદાર ઠેરાવવાથી.

وَمَا كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ إِلَّآ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَٱخۡتَلَفُواْۚ وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ فِيمَا فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ

Wa maa kaanan naasu illaaa ummatanw waahidatan fa khtalafoo; wa law laa kalimatun sabaqat mir Rabbika laqudiya bainahum fee maa feehi yakhtalifoon
૧૯- શરૂઆતમાં દરેક લોકો એક જ કોમના લોકો હતા, પછી તેમણે અંદરોઅંદર વિવાદ કર્યો, અને જો તમારા પાલનહાર તરફથી પહેલાથી જ એક વાત નક્કી થઇ ગઇ ના હોત, તો જે વસ્તુમાં આ લોકો વિવાદ કરી રહ્યા હતા, તેમનો ખરેખર નિર્ણય થઇ ચૂક્યો હોત.

આયત 20 માંથી 109

وَيَقُولُونَ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۖ فَقُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡغَيۡبُ لِلَّهِ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓاْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُنتَظِرِينَ

Wa yaqooloona law laaa unzila 'alaihi aayatun mir Rabbihee faqul innamal ghaibu lillaahi fantaziroo innee ma'akum minal muntazireen
૨૦- અને આ લોકો એવું કહે છે કે તેમના પર તેમના પાલનહાર તરફથી કોઈ નિશાની કેમ નથી આવી ? તમે કહી દો કે ગેબની વાતો તો ફકત અલ્લાહ જ જાણે છે, તો તમે પણ રાહ જુઓ હું પણ તમારી સાથે રાહ જોઇ રહ્યો છું.

It has 109 ayaat (verses) and was revealed in Makkah before Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) migrated to Medina. This surah is found in juz/paara 11.

This Surah was revealed during the last stage of the Prophet's residence at Makkah, and dealt with Allah being the only Creator of this universe. The mushrikin were warned against worshiping deities other than Allah, as these have no power to either benefit or harm anyone, nor are they even aware that they are being worshiped. Guidance was provided as to how each nation was sent a Rasool for guidance; Al-Qur'an having a cure for all the problems of mankind; Mushrikin following nothing but conjectures; detailed discussions on the stories of Nuh and Musa and Fir'on; and warnings against forcing anyone to convert to Islam.

This chapter calls upon those who were hesitant to accept the Prophet's message, as they found it strange that a human being was imparting the divine words of Allah. But this is neither strange nor related to sorcery. He simply informed them of two essential facts: firstly, that Allah, the Creator of all things, is your Lord and only He merits worship, and secondly, that in the hereafter you will be held to account for how you lived in this world. Whether you agree with these truths or not, they are realities and if accepted can bring salvation; otherwise, you will suffer due to your misdeeds.
