Ayah 1

وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ

1. Woe to every slanderer, and backbiter [1].

Surah Name : Al-Humazah   Surah Number : 104   Ayat Number: 1

Ayah 30

يَٰحَسۡرَةً عَلَى ٱلۡعِبَادِۚ مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

30.Alas! Woe on those servants [43] that when any Messenger comes to them they merely [44] mock at them.

Surah Name : Ya-Sin   Surah Number : 36   Ayat Number: 30

Ayah 79

فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكۡتُبُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِأَيۡدِيهِمۡ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَٰذَا مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَشۡتَرُواْ بِهِۦ ثَمَنٗا قَلِيلٗاۖ فَوَيۡلٞ لَّهُم مِّمَّا كَتَبَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَوَيۡلٞ لَّهُم مِّمَّا يَكۡسِبُونَ

79. So woe to those who write out the Book (Scripture) with their own hands and then say: "This is from Allah" [140], so that they may gain [141] therewith. So woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn [142].

Surah Name : Al-Baqarah   Surah Number : 2   Ayat Number: 79

Ayah 49

وَوُضِعَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ فَتَرَى ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ مُشۡفِقِينَ مِمَّا فِيهِ وَيَقُولُونَ يَٰوَيۡلَتَنَا مَالِ هَٰذَا ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَا يُغَادِرُ صَغِيرَةٗ وَلَا كَبِيرَةً إِلَّآ أَحۡصَىٰهَاۚ وَوَجَدُواْ مَا عَمِلُواْ حَاضِرٗاۗ وَلَا يَظۡلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدٗا

49. And the book will be set down [113]. You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what is in it, and they will say, "Woe to us! What is with this book that leaves nothing small or large but has recorded it all [114]?!" And they will find everything they did present [115]. Your Lord does not do injustice to anyone [116].

Surah Name : Al-Kahf   Surah Number : 18   Ayat Number: 49

Ayah 14

قَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

14. They said, ah! Woe to us! No doubt, we were unjust [23].

Surah Name : Al-Anbiya   Surah Number : 21   Ayat Number: 14

Ayah 18

بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَٰطِلِ فَيَدۡمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٞۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡوَيۡلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ

18. Rather We hurl the truth on falsehood, then it takes out its brain, and therefore it vanishes [27]. And woe to you for those utterances, which you fabricate.

Surah Name : Al-Anbiya   Surah Number : 21   Ayat Number: 18

Ayah 67

أُفّٖ لَّكُمۡ وَلِمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ

67. Woe upon you and those deities, which you worship besides Allah, do you then have no wisdom? [98]

Surah Name : Al-Anbiya   Surah Number : 21   Ayat Number: 67

Ayah 97

وَٱقۡتَرَبَ ٱلۡوَعۡدُ ٱلۡحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَٰخِصَةٌ أَبۡصَٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا قَدۡ كُنَّا فِي غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ هَٰذَا بَلۡ كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

97. And the true promise drew near, then the eyes of the infidels [151], will remain staring and woe to us. Indeed, we were headless of this and rather we were unjust [152],

Surah Name : Al-Anbiya   Surah Number : 21   Ayat Number: 97

Ayah 11

فَوَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ

11. Woe, then, on that day to the deniers [10].

Surah Name : At-Tur   Surah Number : 52   Ayat Number: 11

Ayah 84

وَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ وَقَالَ يَـٰٓأَسَفَىٰ عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَٱبۡيَضَّتۡ عَيۡنَاهُ مِنَ ٱلۡحُزۡنِ فَهُوَ كَظِيمٞ

84. And he turned away from them and said, "Oh, how great is my grief for Yusuf!" His eyes became white with sorrow, and he was deeply distressed [180].

Ayah 61

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ وَيۡلَكُمۡ لَا تَفۡتَرُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبٗا فَيُسۡحِتَكُم بِعَذَابٖۖ وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَنِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ

61. Musa said to them, woe be to you, forge not a lie against Allah [73] that He may destroy you by torment and indeed, he who forged a lie remained unsuccessful'. [74]

Surah Name : Ta-Ha   Surah Number : 20   Ayat Number: 61

Ayah 20

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَتۡ سُورَةٞۖ فَإِذَآ أُنزِلَتۡ سُورَةٞ مُّحۡكَمَةٞ وَذُكِرَ فِيهَا ٱلۡقِتَالُ رَأَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيۡكَ نَظَرَ ٱلۡمَغۡشِيِّ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۖ فَأَوۡلَىٰ لَهُمۡ

20.And the believers say: "Why has a Surah not been revealed? [56]" But when a well-defined Surah is revealed and therein fighting is ordained, you will see those in whose hearts is sickness [57] staring at you with the look of a person fainting to see the shadow of death (58). So Alas! Woe be upon them!

Surah Name : Muhammad   Surah Number : 47   Ayat Number: 20

Ayah 27

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا بَٰطِلٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۚ فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ

27. And We have not made the heavens and the earth, and what is in between them in vain [57]. This is the view [58] of the infidels. Therefore, woe be to the infidels, because of the Fire.

Surah Name : Saad   Surah Number : 38   Ayat Number: 27

Ayah 80

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ وَيۡلَكُمۡ ثَوَابُ ٱللَّهِ خَيۡرٞ لِّمَنۡ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗاۚ وَلَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَ

80. And those who were given knowledge said [199], "Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for those who believe and do righteous deeds [200], and it is granted only to those who are patient [201]."

Surah Name : Al-Qasas   Surah Number : 28   Ayat Number: 80

Ayah 22

أَفَمَن شَرَحَ ٱللَّهُ صَدۡرَهُۥ لِلۡإِسۡلَٰمِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٖ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۚ فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡقَٰسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ

22.Cannot such one, whose heart Allah has opened for Islam [61] (peace), possess a light (62) from his Lord? But woe to those whose hearts are hardened (63) from the (64) rememberance of Allah. They are clearly on the wrong way.

Surah Name : Az-Zumar   Surah Number : 39   Ayat Number: 22

Ayah 56

أَن تَقُولَ نَفۡسٞ يَٰحَسۡرَتَىٰ عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطتُ فِي جَنۢبِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِن كُنتُ لَمِنَ ٱلسَّـٰخِرِينَ

56. Lest any soul should say: "Ah. woe to me for falling short of my duty [142] to Allah. And surely I used to laugh [143].

Surah Name : Az-Zumar   Surah Number : 39   Ayat Number: 56

Ayah 72

قَالَتۡ يَٰوَيۡلَتَىٰٓ ءَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا۠ عَجُوزٞ وَهَٰذَا بَعۡلِي شَيۡخًاۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيۡءٌ عَجِيبٞ

72. She said Oh; woe to me, shall I bear [148] a child when I am old, and this is my husband, an old man? No doubt, this is a strange thing [149]

Surah Name : Hud   Surah Number : 11   Ayat Number: 72

Ayah 28

يَٰوَيۡلَتَىٰ لَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أَتَّخِذۡ فُلَانًا خَلِيلٗا

28. Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had not taken such a one as a friend [54].

Surah Name : Al-Furqan   Surah Number : 25   Ayat Number: 28

Ayah 60

فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن يَوۡمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ

60. Woe unto those who disbelieve because of that day of theirs, which they are promised [73].

Surah Name : Adh-Dhariyat   Surah Number : 51   Ayat Number: 60

Ayah 17

وَٱلَّذِي قَالَ لِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ أُفّٖ لَّكُمَآ أَتَعِدَانِنِيٓ أَنۡ أُخۡرَجَ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلۡقُرُونُ مِن قَبۡلِي وَهُمَا يَسۡتَغِيثَانِ ٱللَّهَ وَيۡلَكَ ءَامِنۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

17.But there is the one who says to his parents: "Fie, I am fed up with you both.[49] Do you threaten me that I shall be brought forth again, whilst generations[50] have already passed before me?" And they both cry to Allah for help. Woe to you. It is better that you believe, that certainly the promise(51) of Allah is true. Then he (son) says: "This is nothing but the tales (52) of the ancients".
