Ayah 42

لَوۡ كَانَ عَرَضٗا قَرِيبٗا وَسَفَرٗا قَاصِدٗا لَّٱتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَٰكِنۢ بَعُدَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلشُّقَّةُۚ وَسَيَحۡلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ لَوِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡنَا لَخَرَجۡنَا مَعَكُمۡ يُهۡلِكُونَ أَنفُسَهُمۡ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَكَٰذِبُونَ,

42. If there had been a near gain or an average journey [121], they would have certainly followed you. But the hardship of the journey seemed too long for them. They will swear [124] by Allah that if they had been able to, they would have certainly gone with you. They bring ruin upon themselves [125], and Allah knows that they are indeed liars.
