Ayah 1

وَٱلشَّمۡسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا

1. (I swear) by the sun and its brightness (1).

Surah Name : Ash-Shams   Surah Number : 91   Ayat Number: 1

Ayah 5

ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانٖ

5. The sun and the moon have been set proportionately (4.)

Surah Name : Ar-Rahman   Surah Number : 55   Ayat Number: 5

Ayah 38

وَٱلشَّمۡسُ تَجۡرِي لِمُسۡتَقَرّٖ لَّهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ

38. And the sun [55] moves on a prescribed course [56], This is the Commandment of the Most Honourable, the Most Knowing (57).

Surah Name : Ya-Sin   Surah Number : 36   Ayat Number: 38

Ayah 40

لَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ يَنۢبَغِي لَهَآ أَن تُدۡرِكَ ٱلۡقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيۡلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِۚ وَكُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ

40. The sun is not permitted to overtake the moon [60], nor can the night overtake [61] the day. And each one is floating in an orbit (62),

Ayah 258

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِي حَآجَّ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ فِي رَبِّهِۦٓ أَنۡ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكَ إِذۡ قَالَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّيَ ٱلَّذِي يُحۡيِۦ وَيُمِيتُ قَالَ أَنَا۠ أُحۡيِۦ وَأُمِيتُۖ قَالَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡتِي بِٱلشَّمۡسِ مِنَ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ فَأۡتِ بِهَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ فَبُهِتَ ٱلَّذِي كَفَرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

258. (O Beloved Prophet) Did you not see the one who argued [665] with Ibrahim about his Lord, merely because Allah had granted him kingship? When Ibrahim said: "My Lord is the One who gives life and causes death," he (Namrood) replied: "I give life and cause death" [666]. Ibrahim said: "Indeed, Allah brings the sun from the east [667]; so bring it from the west." Then the disbeliever was confounded [668]. And Allah does not guide the unjust people.

Surah Name : Al-Baqarah   Surah Number : 2   Ayat Number: 258

Ayah 17

۞وَتَرَى ٱلشَّمۡسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت تَّزَٰوَرُ عَن كَهۡفِهِمۡ ذَاتَ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَإِذَا غَرَبَت تَّقۡرِضُهُمۡ ذَاتَ ٱلشِّمَالِ وَهُمۡ فِي فَجۡوَةٖ مِّنۡهُۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِۗ مَن يَهۡدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلۡمُهۡتَدِۖ وَمَن يُضۡلِلۡ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ وَلِيّٗا مُّرۡشِدٗا

17. And you will see [26] the sun when it rises, moving away from their cave to the right, and when it sets, turning away from them on the left [27], while they are in the open space [28] of the cave. This is of the signs of Allah. He whom Allah guides is rightly guided [29], and he whom He sends astray will never find a supporter to guide [30].

Surah Name : Al-Kahf   Surah Number : 18   Ayat Number: 17

Ayah 86

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَغۡرِبَ ٱلشَّمۡسِ وَجَدَهَا تَغۡرُبُ فِي عَيۡنٍ حَمِئَةٖ وَوَجَدَ عِندَهَا قَوۡمٗاۖ قُلۡنَا يَٰذَا ٱلۡقَرۡنَيۡنِ إِمَّآ أَن تُعَذِّبَ وَإِمَّآ أَن تَتَّخِذَ فِيهِمۡ حُسۡنٗا

86. Until, when he reached the setting of the sun [196], he found it set in a spring of black muddy [197], and he found there a people. We said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [198] them or treat them with kindness."

Surah Name : Al-Kahf   Surah Number : 18   Ayat Number: 86

Ayah 33

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ

33. And it is He Who created the night and the day [49] and the sun and the moon. Each one is floating in a circumference [50],

Surah Name : Al-Anbiya   Surah Number : 21   Ayat Number: 33

Ayah 61

وَلَئِن سَأَلۡتَهُم مَّنۡ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَكُونَ

61. And if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth and made the sun and the moon subservient, they will certainly say, 'Allah.' Then how are they being deluded [149]?

Surah Name : Al-Ankabut   Surah Number : 29   Ayat Number: 61

Ayah 4

إِذۡ قَالَ يُوسُفُ لِأَبِيهِ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّي رَأَيۡتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوۡكَبٗا وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ رَأَيۡتُهُمۡ لِي سَٰجِدِينَ

4. When Yusuf (Joseph) said to his father, my father, I saw eleven stars(7), and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating to me(8).

Ayah 2

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيۡرِ عَمَدٖ تَرَوۡنَهَاۖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ يُدَبِّرُ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمۡ تُوقِنُونَ

2. Allah is He Who raised up the heavens without pillars that you can see. [5] Then He established Himself on the Throne [6] and made the sun and the moon subservient. Each one runs its course for a specified term. [7] He plans every affair and explains the signs in detail so that you may believe in the meeting with your Lord. [8]

Surah Name : Ar-Rad   Surah Number : 13   Ayat Number: 2

Ayah 130

فَٱصۡبِرۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ قَبۡلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمۡسِ وَقَبۡلَ غُرُوبِهَاۖ وَمِنۡ ءَانَآيِٕ ٱلَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡ وَأَطۡرَافَ ٱلنَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرۡضَىٰ

130. Then be patient [185] over what they say, and praise your Lord proclaiming His Holiness before the rising of the sun [186] and before the sunset. And proclaim His Holiness in the hours of the night and at the ends of the day, so that so that you may be pleased (187).

Surah Name : Ta-Ha   Surah Number : 20   Ayat Number: 130

Ayah 54

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ يُغۡشِي ٱلَّيۡلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطۡلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثٗا وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتِۭ بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۗ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلۡخَلۡقُ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُۗ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

54. Indeed, your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days [131]. Then He established Himself on the Throne [132]. He covers the night with the day, seeking it rapidly [133]. And He has made the sun, the moon, and the stars subservient by His command. Indeed, His is the creation and the command [134]. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds [135].

Surah Name : Al-Araf   Surah Number : 7   Ayat Number: 54

Ayah 12

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتُۢ بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ

12. And He has made the night [21] and the day, the sun and the moon subservient to you. And the stars are subservient [22] by His Command. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who use their intellect [23].

Surah Name : An-Nahl   Surah Number : 16   Ayat Number: 12

Ayah 24

وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوۡمَهَا يَسۡجُدُونَ لِلشَّمۡسِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ فَصَدَّهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَهُمۡ لَا يَهۡتَدُونَ

24.I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allah. Satan has made their deeds seem appealing to them [52], and he has barred them from the way [53], so they are not guided [54].

Surah Name : An-Naml   Surah Number : 27   Ayat Number: 24

Ayah 29

أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُولِجُ ٱلَّيۡلَ فِي ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِي ٱلَّيۡلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِيٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗى وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ

29.0 listener! Did you not see that Allah turns night into the day[63] and returns the day in the night [64] and He makes the sun and the moon serve you? Each one pursues the course till an appointed term (65), and Allah is aware of your deeds.

Surah Name : Luqman   Surah Number : 31   Ayat Number: 29

Ayah 5

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ يُكَوِّرُ ٱلَّيۡلَ عَلَى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ ٱلنَّهَارَ عَلَى ٱلَّيۡلِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمًّىۗ أَلَا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفَّـٰرُ

5.He created the heavens and the earth with truth [13]. He makes the night cover the day and He makes the day cover the night [14]; and He has employed the sun and the moon into service. Each moves on its course to an appointed time. Do (15) you hear? He is the Most Exalted in Power, the Most Forgiving (16).

Surah Name : Az-Zumar   Surah Number : 39   Ayat Number: 5

Ayah 96

فَالِقُ ٱلۡإِصۡبَاحِ وَجَعَلَ ٱلَّيۡلَ سَكَنٗا وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ حُسۡبَانٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ

96. He splits the dawn [206] and has made the night for rest, and the sun and the moon for reckoning [207]. That is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing [208].

Surah Name : Al-Anam   Surah Number : 6   Ayat Number: 96

Ayah 78

فَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلشَّمۡسَ بَازِغَةٗ قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّي هَٰذَآ أَكۡبَرُۖ فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَتۡ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ إِنِّي بَرِيٓءٞ مِّمَّا تُشۡرِكُونَ

78. Then when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my Lord; this is the greatest" [156]. But when it set, he said, "O my people! I am indeed free from what you associate with Allah" [157].

Surah Name : Al-Anam   Surah Number : 6   Ayat Number: 78

Ayah 18

وَلَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَعَشِيّٗا وَحِينَ تُظۡهِرُونَ

18.And His praise is in the heavens and the earth [31] and a little [32]before the setting sun and when you enter the noon (33).
