Ayah 42

فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ

42.As (they will be) in the midst of scorching winds and boiling waters.

Ayah 43

وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ

43. And under the shadow of burning smoke [40].

Ayah 44

لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ

44. Which is neither fresh nor pleasant.

إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ

45.Indeed, before that they lived with bounties [41].

وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ

46.But persisted in disobedience of great sins [42].

وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ

47. And used to say: "Is it that when we are dead and become dead and become dust and bones, are we going to be raised up [43]"

قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

49.Please declare: "Surely, all early ones and the later ones [44],"

لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ

52.Will eat of the tree of Zaqqum (bitter thorny cactus).

Ayah 53

فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ

53.And therewith fill your bellies [47].

فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ

54.And you will drink thereafter, boiling water.

فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ

55. Drink it like sick, thirsty [48] she-camels.

هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ

56. This is their hospitality [49] on the Day of Judgement.
