About the Surah Al-Fath

Al-Fath (meaning: "Victory", "Triumph") is the 48th chapter (Surah) of the Qur'an with 29 verses (Ayat).

The summary/theme of the Surah  Al-Fath : 

As the Prophet was making his way to Madinah after concluding the Treaty of Hudeybiyah with the disbelievers of Makkah in Dhil-Q'adah, A. H. 6, this Surah was revealed. Through the Hudeybiyah treaty, Allah granted the Muslims a manifest victory.

Lesson learned from Surah  Al-Fath : 

  1. Allah's has the armies of the heavens and the earth at His disposal.  
  2. Allah's sent the Prophet ﷺ as a witness, as one who gives glad-tidings, and as a warner.  
  3. Our duty towards the Prophet ﷺ is to believe in him, support him and revere him.  
  4. Allah's has declared His pleasure for those Ṣaḥ'bah رضي الله عنهم who made the pledge under the tree at \u{1E24}udaybiyyah.  
  5. Muḥammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah's.  
  6. The Ṣaḥ'bah رضي الله عنهم were justifyably harsh against the disbelievers, merciful amongst themselves.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

إِنَّا فَتَحۡنَا لَكَ فَتۡحٗا مُّبِينٗا

Innaa fatahnaa laka Fatham Mubeenaa

Verset 2 sur 10

لِّيَغۡفِرَ لَكَ ٱللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِن ذَنۢبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَيُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتَهُۥ عَلَيۡكَ وَيَهۡدِيَكَ صِرَٰطٗا مُّسۡتَقِيمٗا

Liyaghfira lakal laahu maa taqaddama min zanbika wa maa ta akhkhara wa yutimma ni'matahoo 'alaika wa yahdiyaka siraatan mustaqeema
2. afin qu’Allah te pardonne tes péchés passés et à venir ; qu’Il accomplisse Son bienfait envers toi et te guide vers une voie droite ;

وَيَنصُرَكَ ٱللَّهُ نَصۡرًا عَزِيزًا

Wa yansurakal laahu nasran 'azeezaa
3. et qu’Allah t’appuie du plus puissant des secours.

Verset 4 sur 10

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ ٱلسَّكِينَةَ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ لِيَزۡدَادُوٓاْ إِيمَٰنٗا مَّعَ إِيمَٰنِهِمۡۗ وَلِلَّهِ جُنُودُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا

Huwal lazeee anzalas sakeenata fee quloobil mu'mineena liyazdaadooo eemaanamma'a eemaanihim; wa lillaahi junoodus samawaati wal ard; wa kaanal laahu 'Aleeman Hakeemaa
4. C’est Lui Qui a fait descendre la quiétude sur les cœurs des croyants pour affermir encore plus leur foi. D’Allah relèvent les armées des cieux et de la terre. Allah est Omniscient et Sage,

Verset 5 sur 10

لِّيُدۡخِلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَيُكَفِّرَ عَنۡهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمۡۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡزًا عَظِيمٗا

Liyudkhilal mu'mineena walmu'minaati jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa yukaffira 'anhum saiyi aatihim; wa kaana zaalika 'indal laahi fawzan 'azeemaa
5. Qui fera entrer les croyants et les croyantes en des jardins sous lesquels coulent les rivières et où ils séjourneront pour l’éternité. Puis Il effacera leurs péchés : tel sera, auprès d’Allah, le succès suprême !

Verset 6 sur 10

وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكَٰتِ ٱلظَّآنِّينَ بِٱللَّهِ ظَنَّ ٱلسَّوۡءِۚ عَلَيۡهِمۡ دَآئِرَةُ ٱلسَّوۡءِۖ وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَعَنَهُمۡ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَسَآءَتۡ مَصِيرٗا

Wa yu'azzibal munaafiqeena walmunaafiqaati wal mushrikeena walmushrikaatiz zaaanneena billaahi zannas saw'; 'alaihim daaa'iratus saw'i wa ghadibal laahu 'alaihim wa la'anahum wa a'adda lahum jahannama wa saaa' at maseeraa
6. Il fera soumettre au supplice les hypocrites, hommes et femmes, ainsi que les associâtres, hommes et femmes, qui méjugent d’Allah. Le malheur retombera sur eux, et ils encourront la colère d’Allah Qui les maudira et leur préparera la Géhenne. Quel affreux destin !

Verset 7 sur 10

وَلِلَّهِ جُنُودُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا

Wa lillaahi junoodus samaawaati wal ard; wa kaanal laahu 'azeezan hakeema
7. D’Allah relèvent les armées des cieux et de la terre. Allah est Tout- Puissant et Sage.

Verset 8 sur 10

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ شَٰهِدٗا وَمُبَشِّرٗا وَنَذِيرٗا

Innaaa arsalnaaka shaahi danw wa mubashshiranw wa nazeera
8. Nous t’avons envoyé en témoin, en annonciateur et en avertisseur,

Verset 9 sur 10

لِّتُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتُعَزِّرُوهُ وَتُوَقِّرُوهُۚ وَتُسَبِّحُوهُ بُكۡرَةٗ وَأَصِيلًا

Litu minoo billaahi wa Rasoolihee wa tu'azziroohu watuwaqqiroohu watusabbi hoohu bukratanw wa aseelaa
9. afin que vous (les hommes) croyiez en Allah et en Son Messager, que vous appuyiez et honoriez (le Messager) et rendiez gloire (à Allah), matin et soir.

Verset 10 sur 10

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَايِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ يَدُ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡقَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ فَمَن نَّكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَوۡفَىٰ بِمَا عَٰهَدَ عَلَيۡهُ ٱللَّهَ فَسَيُؤۡتِيهِ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا

Innal lazeena yubaayi'oonaka innamaa yubaayi'oonal laaha yadul laahi fawqa aydeehim; faman nakasa fainnamaa yankusu 'alaa nafsihee wa man awfaa bimaa 'aahada 'alaihullaaha fasa yu'teehi ajran 'azeemaa (section 1)
10. Ceux qui te font allégeance, le font en réalité à Allah. La Main d’Allah est au-dessus de leurs mains. Quiconque alors se parjure le fera à ses dépens, et quiconque honore ses engagements envers Allah, (Allah) lui accordera une immense récompense.
