About the Surah Al-Fath

Al-Fath (meaning: "Victory", "Triumph") is the 48th chapter (Surah) of the Qur'an with 29 verses (Ayat).

The summary/theme of the Surah  Al-Fath : 

As the Prophet was making his way to Madinah after concluding the Treaty of Hudeybiyah with the disbelievers of Makkah in Dhil-Q'adah, A. H. 6, this Surah was revealed. Through the Hudeybiyah treaty, Allah granted the Muslims a manifest victory.

Lesson learned from Surah  Al-Fath : 

  1. Allah's has the armies of the heavens and the earth at His disposal.  
  2. Allah's sent the Prophet ﷺ as a witness, as one who gives glad-tidings, and as a warner.  
  3. Our duty towards the Prophet ﷺ is to believe in him, support him and revere him.  
  4. Allah's has declared His pleasure for those Ṣaḥ'bah رضي الله عنهم who made the pledge under the tree at \u{1E24}udaybiyyah.  
  5. Muḥammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah's.  
  6. The Ṣaḥ'bah رضي الله عنهم were justifyably harsh against the disbelievers, merciful amongst themselves.

إِنَّا فَتَحۡنَا لَكَ فَتۡحٗا مُّبِينٗا

Innaa fatahnaa laka Fatham Mubeenaa
1਼ (ਹੇ ਨਬੀ!) ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਖੱਲ੍ਹੀ ਫ਼ਤਿਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਆਇਤ 2 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29

لِّيَغۡفِرَ لَكَ ٱللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِن ذَنۢبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَيُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتَهُۥ عَلَيۡكَ وَيَهۡدِيَكَ صِرَٰطٗا مُّسۡتَقِيمٗا

Liyaghfira lakal laahu maa taqaddama min zanbika wa maa ta akhkhara wa yutimma ni'matahoo 'alaika wa yahdiyaka siraatan mustaqeema
2਼ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਗਲੀਆਂ ਪਿਛਲੀਆਂ ਭੁੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ 1 ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿਅਮਤ (ਇਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਰਾਹ ਦੀ ਹਿਦਾਇਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ।

ਆਇਤ 4 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ ٱلسَّكِينَةَ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ لِيَزۡدَادُوٓاْ إِيمَٰنٗا مَّعَ إِيمَٰنِهِمۡۗ وَلِلَّهِ جُنُودُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا

Huwal lazeee anzalas sakeenata fee quloobil mu'mineena liyazdaadooo eemaanamma'a eemaanihim; wa lillaahi junoodus samawaati wal ard; wa kaanal laahu 'Aleeman Hakeemaa
4਼ ਉਹੀਓ (ਅੱਲਾਹ) ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੋਮਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਕੀਨਤ (ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ) ਉਤਾਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਈਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਰ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ। ਅੱਲਾਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਜਾਣਨਹਾਰ ਤੇ ਯੁਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਹੈ।

ਆਇਤ 5 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29

لِّيُدۡخِلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَيُكَفِّرَ عَنۡهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمۡۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡزًا عَظِيمٗا

Liyudkhilal mu'mineena walmu'minaati jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa yukaffira 'anhum saiyi aatihim; wa kaana zaalika 'indal laahi fawzan 'azeemaa
5਼ (ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁੱਝ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ) ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੋਮਿਨ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਮੋਮਿਨ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਨਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁਰਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਅੱਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਹੈ।

ਆਇਤ 6 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29

وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكَٰتِ ٱلظَّآنِّينَ بِٱللَّهِ ظَنَّ ٱلسَّوۡءِۚ عَلَيۡهِمۡ دَآئِرَةُ ٱلسَّوۡءِۖ وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَعَنَهُمۡ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَسَآءَتۡ مَصِيرٗا

Wa yu'azzibal munaafiqeena walmunaafiqaati wal mushrikeena walmushrikaatiz zaaanneena billaahi zannas saw'; 'alaihim daaa'iratus saw'i wa ghadibal laahu 'alaihim wa la'anahum wa a'adda lahum jahannama wa saaa' at maseeraa
6਼ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੁਨਾਫ਼ਿਕ (ਪਖੰਡੀ) ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਨਾਫ਼ਿਕ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਰਿਕ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਰਿਕ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜ਼ਾਬ (ਸਜ਼ਾ) ਦੇਵੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਵਿਚ ਭੈੜੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬੁਰਾਈ ਦੇ ਫੇਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਰੋਪੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ ਪਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਰਕ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਭੈੜਾ ਪਰਤਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਹੈ।

ਆਇਤ 7 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29

وَلِلَّهِ جُنُودُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا

7਼ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ। ਅੱਲਾਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਕਮਤ ਵਾਲਾ (ਯੁਕਤੀਮਾਨ) ਹੈ।

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ شَٰهِدٗا وَمُبَشِّرٗا وَنَذِيرٗا

Innaaa arsalnaaka shaahi danw wa mubashshiranw wa nazeera
8਼ (ਹੇ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ:!) ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ (ਹੱਕ ਦੀ) ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ, (ਜੰਨਤ ਦੀਆਂ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਖ਼ਬਰੀਆਂ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ (ਨਰਕ ਤੋਂ) ਡਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।1

ਆਇਤ 9 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29

لِّتُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتُعَزِّرُوهُ وَتُوَقِّرُوهُۚ وَتُسَبِّحُوهُ بُكۡرَةٗ وَأَصِيلًا

Litu minoo billaahi wa Rasoolihee wa tu'azziroohu watuwaqqiroohu watusabbi hoohu bukratanw wa aseelaa
9਼ (ਸੋ ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ!) ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਸੂਲ (ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ:) ਉੱਤੇ ਈਮਾਨ ਲਿਆਓ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ (ਰਸੂਲ) ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੇਰੇ-ਸ਼ਾਮ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਉਸ (ਅੱਲਾਹ) ਦੀ ਪਾਕੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰੋ।

ਆਇਤ 10 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَايِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ يَدُ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡقَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ فَمَن نَّكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَوۡفَىٰ بِمَا عَٰهَدَ عَلَيۡهُ ٱللَّهَ فَسَيُؤۡتِيهِ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا

Innal lazeena yubaayi'oonaka innamaa yubaayi'oonal laaha yadul laahi fawqa aydeehim; faman nakasa fainnamaa yankusu 'alaa nafsihee wa man awfaa bimaa 'aahada 'alaihullaaha fasa yu'teehi ajran 'azeemaa (section 1)
10਼ (ਹੇ ਨਬੀ!) ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ‘ਬੈਅਤ’ (ਪ੍ਰਤਿੱਗਿਆ) ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ‘ਬੈਅਤ’ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਅੱਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿੱਗਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜੇਗਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿੱਗਿਆ ਤੋੜਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਸਿਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ‘ਬੈਅਤ’ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਨਿਭਾਏਗਾ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਵੱਡਾ-ਉੱਚਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
