Ayah 140

أَمۡ تَقُولُونَ إِنَّ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطَ كَانُواْ هُودًا أَوۡ نَصَٰرَىٰۗ قُلۡ ءَأَنتُمۡ أَعۡلَمُ أَمِ ٱللَّهُۗ وَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّن كَتَمَ شَهَٰدَةً عِندَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ

140. Or do you claim that Ebrahim, Ismail, Ishaaq, Yaqub, and the descendants were Yahud or Nasara? Say (O Muhammad): "Are you more knowledgeable, or is Allah? And who is more unjust than the one who conceals a testimony he has from Allah? Indeed, Allah is not unaware of what you do."

Ayah 142

۞سَيَقُولُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَا وَلَّىٰهُمۡ عَن قِبۡلَتِهِمُ ٱلَّتِي كَانُواْ عَلَيۡهَاۚ قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقُ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبُۚ يَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ

142. The foolish [285] among the people will say [286]: "What has turned them (Muslims) away from their Qibla [287] which they used to face?" Please declare (O Muhammad): "To Allah belongs [288] the east and the west; He guides whom He wills to the Straight Path."

Ayah 143

وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَسَطٗا لِّتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ شَهِيدٗاۗ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا ٱلۡقِبۡلَةَ ٱلَّتِي كُنتَ عَلَيۡهَآ إِلَّا لِنَعۡلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيۡهِۚ وَإِن كَانَتۡ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّهُۗ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَٰنَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌۭ

143. And thus We made you an exalted [289] community among all the nations that you may be a witness [290] over the people and the Rasool (Messenger) will be a witness over you [291]. And (O Beloved) We did not make the Qibla, which you used to face (Baitul Muqaddas) but that We might make evident who would follow the Rasool from who would turn back on his heels. And, surely, it is difficult, except for those whom Allah has guided [292], and never would Allah cause you to lose your faith [293]. Surely, Allah is to the people, Most Kind and Merciful [294].

Ayah 144

قَدۡ نَرَىٰ تَقَلُّبَ وَجۡهِكَ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِۖ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبۡلَةٗ تَرۡضَىٰهَاۚ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَحَيۡثُ مَا كُنتُمۡ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ شَطۡرَهُۥۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ لَيَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ

144.Surely, We have observed you turning [295] your face (O Muhammad) towards heaven repeatedly [296], and We will surely turn you to a Qibla with which you will be pleased [297]. So, turn [298] your face towards the Sacred Mosque (Ka'bah) at once, and wherever you (believers) are, turn [299] your face towards it. Those who were given the Scripture, surely, know that it is the truth [300] from their Lord and Allah is not unmindful of their deeds.

Ayah 148

وَلِكُلّٖ وِجۡهَةٌ هُوَ مُوَلِّيهَاۖ فَٱسۡتَبِقُواْ ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِۚ أَيۡنَ مَا تَكُونُواْ يَأۡتِ بِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ

148. For every person there is a direction [309] to which he faces, so strive to surpass [310] others in doing good deeds. Wherever you may be—Allah will bring you forth altogether [311]. Verily, Allah has power over everything.

Ayah 149

وَمِنۡ حَيۡثُ خَرَجۡتَ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ

149. So from whichever direction you come forth [312], turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque, and surely, it is the truth from your Lord, and Allah is not unmindful of what you do [313].

Ayah 153

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱسۡتَعِينُواْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ

153. O you who believe! Seek help through patience and prayer [323]. Surely, Allah is with those who have patience [324].

Ayah 154

وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَن يُقۡتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمۡوَٰتُۢۚ بَلۡ أَحۡيَآءٞ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَشۡعُرُونَ

154. And do not say about those who are slain [325] in the path of Allah [326] as dead [327]. Rather, they are alive, but you are unaware of it [328].

Ayah 156

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَٰبَتۡهُم مُّصِيبَةٞ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيۡهِ رَٰجِعُونَ

156. Those when they are afflicted by some misfortune say: "Surely, we belong to Allah and to Him is our return".

Ayah 158

۞إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلۡمَرۡوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَنۡ حَجَّ ٱلۡبَيۡتَ أَوِ ٱعۡتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَاۚ وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيۡرٗا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ

158. Surely, Safa and Marwa are of the symbols [331] of Allah. Then whosoever performs Hajj and Umrah of the Sacred House, there is no sin [332] upon him walking between the two of them [333]. And whoever volunteers to do any good, then, surely, Allah is the Most Appreciative, All-Knowing [334].

Ayah 159

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلۡهُدَىٰ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا بَيَّنَّـٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ فِي ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ يَلۡعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَلۡعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّـٰعِنُونَ

159. Surely, those [335] who conceal [336] what We have sent down as clear proofs and guidance after We made it clear for the people [337] in the Book, upon them is the curse of Allah and the curse of those who curse.

Ayah 161

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَمَاتُواْ وَهُمۡ كُفَّارٌ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ لَعۡنَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجۡمَعِينَ

161. Verily, those who disbelieved and died as disbelievers [339], upon them [340] will be the curse of Allah and of the angels and of the people altogether.

Ayah 164

إِنَّ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلَّتِي تَجۡرِي فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن مَّآءٖ فَأَحۡيَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٖ وَتَصۡرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ وَٱلسَّحَابِ ٱلۡمُسَخَّرِ بَيۡنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ

164. Surely, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night [344] and the day, and in the great ships, which sail through the sea with that which benefits people [345], and in the water that Allah sends down from the sky [346], and giving life to the earth after its death [347], and dispersing on the earth every kind of creature, and in the veering of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heavens and the earth [348]. Surely, in all these are signs for those who are wise [349].

Surah Name : Al-Baqarah   Surah Number : 2   Ayat Number: 164

Ayah 165

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَندَادٗا يُحِبُّونَهُمۡ كَحُبِّ ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَشَدُّ حُبّٗا لِّلَّهِۗ وَلَوۡ يَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ إِذۡ يَرَوۡنَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ أَنَّ ٱلۡقُوَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعٗا وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ

165. And among the people are those who take deities, other than Allah [350]. They love them as Allah is loved. And those who believe are strongest in love for Allah [351]. And how will it be when the unjust will see the punishment of Allah before their eyes? Then they will be certain that all power belongs to Allah. And surely, Allah is severe in punishment.

Surah Name : Al-Baqarah   Surah Number : 2   Ayat Number: 165

Ayah 167

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُواْ لَوۡ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةٗ فَنَتَبَرَّأَ مِنۡهُمۡ كَمَا تَبَرَّءُواْ مِنَّاۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُرِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ حَسَرَٰتٍ عَلَيۡهِمۡۖ وَمَا هُم بِخَٰرِجِينَ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ

167. And the followers will say: Alas! If we had another turn (at worldly life) [354], we would disassociate ourselves from them as they have disassociated themselves from us. Thus, Allah will show them their (evil) deeds as a source of deep anguish [355] to them. And they are never to emerge from the (blazing) fire [356].

Surah Name : Al-Baqarah   Surah Number : 2   Ayat Number: 167

Ayah 169

إِنَّمَا يَأۡمُرُكُم بِٱلسُّوٓءِ وَٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَأَن تَقُولُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

169. He (the devil) only commands you to do evil and indecency [359], and to say about Allah that which you do not know[360].

Ayah 170

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُواْ بَلۡ نَتَّبِعُ مَآ أَلۡفَيۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ءَابَآءَنَآۚ أَوَلَوۡ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَهۡتَدُونَ

170. And when it is said to them: Follow what Allah has revealed, they say: We will rather follow that which we found our forefathers upon. Even if their forefathers had no understanding and were not guided [361].

Ayah 172

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُلُواْ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡ وَٱشۡكُرُواْ لِلَّهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ إِيَّاهُ تَعۡبُدُونَ

172. O you who believe! Eat from the good things [362] which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is indeed Him that you worship [363].

Ayah 173

إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحۡمَ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ غَيۡرَ بَاغٖ وَلَا عَادٖ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ

173. He has only forbidden to you carrion, blood, and the flesh of swine [365], and that which has been slaughtered while invoking the name of other than Allah [366]. But whoever is forced (by necessity) [367], neither desiring it nor transgressing its limits, there is no sin upon him [368]. Indeed, Allah is the Most Forgiving, Ever Merciful [369].

Surah Name : Al-Baqarah   Surah Number : 2   Ayat Number: 173

Ayah 174

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَيَشۡتَرُونَ بِهِۦ ثَمَنٗا قَلِيلًا أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ مَا يَأۡكُلُونَ فِي بُطُونِهِمۡ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

174. Indeed, those who conceal [370] what Allah has revealed of the Book and exchange it for a small price, they consume not in their bellies except the Fire [372]. And Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and they will have a painful punishment [373].
