About the surah al-‘ankabūt

The summary/theme of the surah al-‘ankabūt: 

Muslims who are sincere are strengthened by this Surah, and those who are weak in their faith are admonished. During those days, some young men faced questions regarding Islam, and their parents encouraged them to return to their ancestral religion in place of Islam. This Surah also addresses these questions.

Lesson learned from  surah al-‘ankabūt: 

  1. Do we think that we will be left alone without being tested on our aªm'n? Being tested is inevitable.  
  2. Allah's gives parables and examples in the Quran that only the knowledgeable understand.  
  3. Ṣal'h performed properly will stop you from committing sins.  
  4. Every soul shall taste death  
  5. The life of the Hereafter is one worth living and anticipating.  
  6. Whoever strives in the way of Allah's, Allah's will guide him/her.

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Ahasiban naasu any yutrakooo any yaqoolooo aamannaa wa hum la yuftanoon
क्या लोगों ने यह समझ लिया है कि वे केवल यह कहने पर छोड़ दिए जाएँगे कि "हम ईमान लाए" और उनकी परीक्षा न ली जाएगी?

आयत 3 में से 10

وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۖ فَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُواْ وَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّ ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ

Wa laqad fatannal lazeena min qablihim fala ya'lamannal laahul lazeena sadaqoo wa la ya'lamannal kaazibeen
हालाँकि निःसंदेह हमने उन लोगों की परीक्षा ली जो इनसे पहले थे। अतः अल्लाह उन लोगों को अवश्य जान लेगा जिन्होंने सच कहा, तथा वह उन लोगों को (भी) अवश्य जान लेगा जो झूठे हैं।

أَمۡ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَسۡبِقُونَاۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُونَ

Am hasibal lazeena ya'maloonas sayyiaati any yasbiqoonaa; saaa'a maa yahkumoon
या उन लोगों ने जो बुरे काम करते हैं, यह समझ लिया है कि वे हमसे बचकर निकल जाएँगे?[1] बुरा है जो वे निर्णय कर रहे हैं।

مَن كَانَ يَرۡجُواْ لِقَآءَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ لَأٓتٖۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

Man kaana yarjoo liqaaa 'allaahi fa inna ajalal laahi la'aat; wa Huwass Sameeul 'Aleem
जो अल्लाह से मिलने[2] की आशा रखता हो, तो निःसंदेह अल्लाह का नियत समय[3] अवश्य आने वाला है। और वही सब कुछ सुनने वाला, सब कुछ जानने[4] वाला है।

وَمَن جَٰهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَٰهِدُ لِنَفۡسِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa man jaahada fainnamaa yujaahidu linafsih; innal laaha laghaniyyun 'anil 'aalameen
और जो व्यक्ति संघर्ष करता है, तो वह अपने ही लिए संघर्ष करता है। निश्चय अल्लाह सारे संसार से बड़ा बेपरवाह है।

आयत 7 में से 10

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنۡهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمۡ وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلَّذِي كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ

Wallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lanukaf firanna 'anhum saiyiaatihim wa lanajziyannahum ahsanal lazee kaanoo ya'maloon
तथा जो लोग ईमान लाए और उन्होंने अच्छे कर्म किए, निश्चय हम उनसे उनकी बुराइयाँ अवश्य दूर कर देंगे तथा निश्चय उन्हें उस कार्य का उत्तम बदला अवश्य देंगे जो वे किया करते थे।

وَوَصَّيۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ حُسۡنٗاۖ وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشۡرِكَ بِي مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَآۚ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

Wa wassainal insaana biwaalidaihi husnanw wa in jaahadaaka litushrika bee maa laisa laka bihee 'ilmun falaa tuti'humaa; ilaiya marji'ukum fa unabbi'ukum bimaa kuntum ta'maloon
और हमने मनुष्य को अपने माँ-बाप के साथ भलाई करने की ताकीद[5] की है और यदि वे तुझपर ज़ोर डालें कि तू मेरे साथ उस चीज़ को साझी ठहराए, जिसका तुझको कोई ज्ञान नहीं, तो उनकी बात न मान।[6] तुम्हें मेरी ओर ही लौटकर आना है। फिर मैं तुम्हें बताऊँगा जो तुम किया करते थे।

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَنُدۡخِلَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

Wallazeena aamanoo wa'amilus saalihaati lanudkhilan nahum fis saaliheen
और जो लोग ईमान लाए तथा अच्छे कर्म किए, हम उन्हें अवश्य सदाचारियों में सम्मिलित करेंगे।

आयत 10 में से 10

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِيَ فِي ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتۡنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصۡرٞ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمۡۚ أَوَلَيۡسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعۡلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa minan naasi many yaqoolu aamannaa billaahi faizaaa ooziya fil laahi ja'ala fitnatan naasi ka'azaabil laahi wa la'in jaaa'a nasrum mir Rabbika la yaqoolunna innaa kunnaa ma'akum; awa laisal laahu bi a'lama bimaa fee sudooril 'aalameen
और लोगों में से कुछ ऐसे हैं, जो कहते हैं : हम अल्लाह पर ईमान लाए। फिर जब अल्लाह के मामले में उसे सताया जए, तो लोगों के सताने को अल्लाह की यातना के समान समझ लेता है। और निश्चय यदि आपके पालनहार की ओर से कोई सहायता आ जाए, तो निश्चय ज़रूर कहेंगे : हम तो तुम्हारे साथ थे। और क्या अल्लाह उसे अधिक जानने वाला नहीं, जो सारे संसार के दिलों में है?
